We are currently looking for an Associate Editor to add to our dynamic team.
 
About The Role: 
 
Are you obsessed with shopping, hunting for good deals and giving readers top-notch product recommendations?
 
Ziff Davis Shopping is looking for an Associate Editor to be an integral part of our content marketing team on RetailMeNot. We are looking for an editorial wiz with a strong background in service journalism, in addition to a passion for commerce content, analytics, and SEO.
 
As the Associate Editor, you will report to the Executive Editor of Ziff Davis Shopping. You will assign, write, produce, and promote organic content across our shopping portfolio with a clear focus on goals and KPIs. You will be tasked with reporting on performance to key stakeholders, as well as using learnings to ideate future content to add to our editorial calendar.
 
In addition to creating blog content, you will also be tasked with writing and rewriting SEO copy on RetailMeNot’s merchant and coupon pages.
 
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who can toggle between: 1) creating blog content with depth and authority (like writing a news article about Prime Day that ranks high in Google search results or doing a roundup of the best Squishmallows on sale right now that converts readers into buyers) and 2) crafting easy-to-read SEO copy for our store pages in a prescriptive fashion that answers shoppers’ burning questions.
 
What You’ll Do:
  • Collaborate with the team in editorial ideation.
  • Write, edit and produce content for our blog and other site pages.
  • Write, edit, and produce the RetailMeNot editorial newsletter.
  • Assign content to freelance writers, and edit and produce their work in the CMS.
  • Be a subject matter expert of store offerings (like rewards programs).
  • Program promotional elements across our site, including but not limited to blog, merchant and coupon pages, email newsletters, and social media.
  • Report on content and page performance, analyze metrics (including but not limited to traffic, engagement, and conversions), and apply learnings.
  • Monitor competitor sites and blogs and stay up to date on commerce content trends to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Perform regular check-ins with stakeholders.
 
Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years of experience in digital editorial or content marketing.
  • Proven track record of driving organic traffic.
  • Strong working knowledge of content management systems, especially Wordpress.
  • Working knowledge of HTML and SEO.
  • Keen understanding of Google Analytics, social media platforms, and commerce content.
  • A natural project manager and multitasker
  • Photoshop skills a plus!
  • A BA in journalism, English, communications or marketing
