Position Overview:
The Senior Associate, Strategy & Growth will support the divisions of Ziff Davis (NASDAQ: ZD) that own and operate its premium technology, shopping, gaming, and entertainment digital media and software brands. Leading brands within these verticals include: CNET, IGN Entertainment, RetailMeNot, Humble Bundle, PCMag, Mashable, Lifehacker, TDS Gift Cards, ZDNET, Gamer Network, Spiceworks, and more.
The Senior Associate, Strategy & Growth will support the divisions of Ziff Davis (NASDAQ: ZD) that own and operate its premium technology, shopping, gaming, and entertainment digital media and software brands. Leading brands within these verticals include: CNET, IGN Entertainment, RetailMeNot, Humble Bundle, PCMag, Mashable, Lifehacker, TDS Gift Cards, ZDNET, Gamer Network, Spiceworks, and more.
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate to help develop and implement organic and inorganic growth strategies in support of the portfolio’s highest priority objectives. The Senior Associate will report to the Strategy & Growth function lead and will be responsible for producing high-quality individual contributions across the team’s key areas of impact, including:
- Division & Brand Strategy: Developing organic growth initiatives (e.g., new products, services, and business models), implementing cross-portfolio brand alignments, building market sizing / market research analysis, conducting competitive intelligence across our various verticals, and additional special projects (e.g., Board presentation support, etc.).
- Mergers & Acquisitions: Supporting each division and individual business units with M&A strategy development, target sourcing and funnel building, relationship development, valuation modeling support, commercial due diligence, and investment memo development.
- Business Development: Assessing, negotiating, and implementing revenue-generating partnerships that build on organic growth strategies; leading divisional vendor relationships and negotiations.
The Senior Associate will work closely with senior members of the Strategy & Growth team, as well as leadership across divisions, brands, and various business functions. This individual’s work will span the portfolio of brands, providing a dynamic and diverse set of experiences, as well as exposure to the dynamic markets in which Ziff Davis operates.
Ideal candidates are self-motivated and capable of driving tasks to completion, are excellent communicators, possess strong quantitative analysis skills, work well in collaborative team environments, and bring a foundational understanding of the digital media landscape.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, or a related field
- 2+ years work experience in management consulting, business strategy, business operations, equity research, and/or equivalent experience in relevant industry verticals (e.g., tech, media, gaming, ecommerce)
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
- Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven interest in Ziff Davis Tech, Shopping, Gaming, Entertainment verticals
- Strategic problem solver, with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Strong analytical skills and ability to solve difficult business problems through financial models and other supporting analyses

*Note: Disclosure as required by NYCHRL, the base salary range for this role when being performed in the City of New York is $80,000-$90,000 with an annual target bonus. Compensation for this business unit specific role is based on a variety of factors including experience, scope of the role, capabilities to perform the role, as well as business & company performance.
