We believe that if you get the culture right, most of the other stuff like delivering great customer service or building a long-term enduring brand will just happen naturally on its own. Our Corporate team does just that! We help hire, train and protect the Zappos culture!
Meet Our Zapponians
Describe the career growth path you've taken at Zappos. Let me tell you a story about a boy who once worked in the best call center there ever was. And by boy, I mean a 24 year old me. I started at Zappos as a Customer Loyalty Team Member with no idea what I wanted to do. I knew I was a people person, so I started there. I was a part of culture clubs and then joined the Mentorship Program within the Call Center, helping new employees find their inner WOW. As time went on, I had fallen in love with Zappos and the culture. I had finally knew what I wanted to do. I wanted be where every Zapponian’s journey began – Recruiting. With the help of amazing mentors, I was able to join the Zappos Recruiting Team permanently. After working on many cool projects within Recruiting, I was ready to do more within HR. I have since moved to HR Operations which is where I am at today. Core Value #5 – Pursue Growth & Learning. #Legit
What is your favorite part about your job? My favorite part of my job? Definitely my team. When I’m having a bad day, they make it better. When I’m having a great day, they make it greater. They are not only co-workers, they family. #Holla
What makes Zappos a great place to work? Zappos is a great place to work because of our customer service philosophy, deliver wow through service, for both external and internal customers. We are innovative and value people and I love that. Also – our discount is awesome!
Why did you choose Zappos? I chose Zappos because I read an article about Holacracy when the program was rolled out as a pilot in HR. I thought this is crazy and I have to be a part of it!
Other than Zappos, what's one mobile app you can't live without? This is a tough one…It has to be a tie between Amazon Prime Now, because I love ice cream and hate leaving my house, and Waze because whenever I do have to leave the house I get hopelessly lost. I am super bad at adulting!
What makes Zappos a great place to work? Ugh. Too many things. There are of course all the inspiring and touchy feely reasons like the amazing friendships I have made over the last (almost) nine years, having the freedom to try new things, the countless opportunities I have had to learn and develop new skills, etc. I definitely love all of those things, and they play a big part in my longevity here, but If I am being truly honest, my favorite things about working here are that I get to come in at 10, wear jeans, and be my obnoxious, swearing self without fear.
What makes Zappos a great place to work? Zappos is amazing because I get the opportunity to do what I love and have fun doing it! Zappos offers great benefits like 5k reimbursement, onsite gym, café and bistro onsite at affordable prices also. We focus on customer service internally and externally to wow the socks off our customers as well as each other. We have so many recognition programs for each other like our coworker bonus and Zollars for redeem for cool Zappos swag. We also give back to the community with our vending machines, profits from the balloons and shit and core value store. I love it all and I’m grateful to be here each day.
What advice would you give to someone applying to a job in your department? The best advice I can give that was also given to me is to be yourself and have fun during your interviews.

What's one interesting fact about Zappos that people might not know? We actually do work. We work hard and play hard. By creating a playful atmosphere, it inspires innovation, and it breaks the “professional” side of you so people can get to know the “real” you which then leads to stronger relationships. These relationships lead to trust, and because there is trust, I want to work harder to not let my team/company down.
What led you to your current role at Zappos? I was always interested in building web sites as a kid, and once I started at Zappos in the Customer Loyalty Team, I decided I wanted to start learning to code. After a few months of creating my own website, a web administrator position opened up. I decided to apply and was able to use my newly created website in my portfolio. If you are passionate and work hard, the sky is the limit at Zappos.
