Job Summary:

As the Director, Project Management & Client Engagement, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery for Envestnet’s portfolio of client enablement and engagement projects. This role requires a dynamic individual with a strategic, client-oriented mindset, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in project management, client service, and product/service strategy & onboarding. The Director, Project Management & Client Engagement plays a critical role in driving organizational success by overseeing the planning and execution of new client onboardings, product implementations, and client engagement opportunities to drive revenue, increase adoption, and improve client satisfaction across our platforms.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning:
    • Oversee Envestnet’s portfolio of client enablement and engagement projects.
    • Develop and implement strategic plans to evolve the team and the team’s processes that align with organizational objectives and priorities.
    • Identify opportunities for growth, innovation, and optimization in client projects and engagements.
    • Translate strategic goals into actionable project objectives and approaches.
  • Project Management:
    • Lead a team of Project Managers for the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple client engagement project types.
    • Oversee comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
    • Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to schedule and service standards.
    • Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies within and across projects.
    • Develop methodologies to modernize the project process and improve the technical acumen of the project management team. 
  • Professional Services Management:
    • Lead Professional Services team charged with defining client engagement scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
    • Ensure contractual obligations are met and project-based fees are realized.
      Collaborate with Sales and Finance for opportunities to streamline processes.
  • Client Engagement Management:
    • Deliver a multi-channel approach to proactive client partnership that helps provide us high-value solutions that meet the collective needs of our client base.
    • Develop strategies for User Groups, Focus Groups, Product Surveys, Client Surveys, Employee Recognition, etc. 
    • Drive execution of strategies, including discovery, consultation, and engagement management. 
    • Translate outcomes to actionable recommendations to enhance the client experience.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and project teams.
    • Communicate project status, milestones, and risks to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize initiatives, and resolve conflicts.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Provide leadership and direction to teams, ensuring clarity of goals, roles, and responsibilities.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, promoting teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.
    • Mentor and coach managers and team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Resource Management:
    • Allocate resources effectively to support project & organizational priorities and optimize utilization of talent and budget.
    • Identify resource gaps and proactively address staffing needs through recruitment, training, or outsourcing.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Establish and enforce quality standards and best practices for project & engagement management, professional services and delivery.
    • Conduct regular reviews and audits to assess project quality and compliance with standards and requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability of project management and client engagement practices.
    • Foster a culture of learning and innovation, encouraging experimentation and knowledge sharing.
  • Adherence to and application of Envestnet legal, compliance, risk, business continuity and administrative policy within the role and department(s) including the timely completion of training & awareness, affirmations and testing as requested.
  • As part of the responsibilities for this role, you will understand and readily support Envestnet's established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls and procedures designed to create value or minimize risk.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
    • Master's degree preferred
    • PMP or other relevant certifications a plus
  • 10 + years of proven experience in project management, with a track record of successfully leading complex, client-centered initiatives from conception to completion.
    • Experience working in financial services and/or fintech industries 
    • Experience running software implementation projects 
    • Experience of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) preferred
    • Experience transforming the client engagement experience preferred 
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques. 
  • Strong understanding of client engagement methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional, global teams.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving results and achieving organizational objectives.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex ideas and information to diverse audiences.

Salary:

The annual base salary range for this position is $128,000 to $192,000.
