Job Description Summary

 

Envestnet is seeking a talented and passionate Incident Manager to join the Site Reliability Engineering team. If you love the idea of working for a FinTech company with the environment and excitement of a start-up where you are making everyday impact, then read on.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identifying, managing, and resolving time sensitive escalations.
  • Performing incident triage, to include determining scope, urgency, and potential impact, identifying the specific vulnerability, and making recommendations that enable expeditious remediation.
  • Leading all efforts across troubleshooting teams to rapidly restore service during outages or performance degradations.
  • Optimizing troubleshooting efforts through automation, alert monitoring, and creating executable runbooks.
  • Identifying recurring trends associated with incidents using software monitoring platforms.
  • Conducting incident postmortems to determine summary of events, root cause, and preventative measures.
  • Supporting end users with rotating on-call schedules in a 24/7/365 global support structure; some weekend and holiday shifts required.

 

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience managing incidents, escalations, crisis management, risk management, or other relevant experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of ITSM fundamentals, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
  • Experience utilizing modern observability and monitoring tools such as New Relic, Splunk, PagerDuty, ServiceNow, and Jira.
  • Front and back-end scripting knowledge, such as Java, Shell, Python or Perl.
  • Exposure to networking, load balancers, MessagingQ, and SQL or Oracle database fundamentals.
  • Ability to think critically and logically, with the vision to work both tactically and strategically.
  • Exceptional bias for action – willing to move quickly and decisively to resolve an incident.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

 

Nice to Have:

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science related field.
  • 3-5 years or more of experience managing incidents, escalations, crisis management, risk management, or other relevant experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • 1-3 years of experience working in the FinTech industry.
