Senior Attorney

The Senior Attorney provides legal guidance and support for organizational legal issues including expanded jurisdictions, securitizations, structured financing, and other financial agreements. 


Senior Attorney Duties and Responsibilities:

Legal Review & Guidance: 90%

  • Take a legal leadership role and negotiate and close various bond transactions, including in jurisdictions new to Ygrene.
  • Assist in non-recourse lending, corporate facilities, securitizations, and structured financings. 
  • Provide advice and support company-wide on a variety of legal issues on a daily basis in a timely and effective manner.
  • Collaborate with representatives from various departments on developing and modifying. practices and procedures to conform with legal requirements, including new jurisdictions.
  • Formulate and implement corporate legal policy concerning a variety of legal issues.
  • Identify, research and analyze relevant federal, state and local requirements and translate the requirements into business solutions.
  • Act as a liaison with outside law firms.
  • Participate in due diligence for mergers and acquisitions and other transactions including drafting and reviewing agreements.

Other Duties as Assigned: 10%

  • Perform special projects and research as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Senior Attorney Skills and Experience:

  • This position requires a J.D. degree; and a minimum of 8 years of experience in finance law.
  •  Preferred experience at an AmLaw 100 law firm and prior in-house experience.
  • Knowledge of financial transaction work in public and/or structured finance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and strong collaborative skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills and high ethical standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing demands.
  • Ability to work with teams.
  • License to practice under any state bar.


Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, and filing cabinets.

Work environment is indoors with majority of time spent sitting at a desk.

Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, walk, twist and turn.

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Ability to use a computer keyboard and calculator.


Position Type, Expected Hours of Work, and Travel

This is a full-time position.

Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Position may have opportunity to work remotely.

No travel is expected for this position.
