Accounting Manager

Accounting Manager Duties and Responsibilities:
Accounting: 70%
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, controls, and external audits
- Oversee day‐to‐day transactional accounting activities including entry and processing of accounts payable, cash activities and management, and all account reconciliations
- Manage Ygrene's tax compliance with assistance from external tax providers
- Manage the preparation, distribution and reporting process for payroll
- Prepare monthly internal financial reports
- Oversee month-end and year‐end close
- Prepare financial statements and reports, including income statements, balance sheets, statement of equity, and cash flow statements for several legal entities and consolidated parent
- Review of account reconciliations.
- Develop accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
- Support financial management in establishing, managing, and measuring performance against budget and cost controls.
- Prepare schedules and work with auditors for the timely delivery of audit reports.
- Prepare lender required reporting pertaining to debt covenants.
Management Duties: 20%
- Schedule staff and assign work to ensure work deadlines are met.
- Recruit, select, train, and provide leadership and performance feedback for direct reports.
- Recommend wage adjustments, staffing and work assignments.
- Conduct regular staff and coaching meetings with direct reports.
- Establish goals and work plans consistent with organization needs and monitor progress.
- Attend internal and external management meetings
Other Duties as Assigned: 10%.
- Perform special projects and research as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Accounting Manager Skills and Experience:
- CPA required; Audit experience required, Big 4 experience desired
- This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; and 6 (8+ if Senior Manager) years of experience in accounting or related field, including 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of tax accounting; tax preparation experience desired
- Knowledge of NetSuite and other accounting management software.
- Ability to develop and establish financial policies and
- Supervises one Senior Accountant and one Accounts Payable Supervisor
- Technical experience related to U.S. GAAP and financial reporting, including financial institutions, fair value measurements, and stock option accounting
- Clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal
- Strong Excel skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and rapid growth environment
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- This position operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, and filing cabinets.
- Work environment is indoors with majority of time spent sitting at a desk.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, walk, twist and turn.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to use a computer keyboard and calculator.
