Description

The HRIS Specialist supports operations of the Human Resources department and the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). The HRIS Specialist uses discretion and judgement in maintaining and modifying the human resources database systems, primarily UltiPro.

 
HRIS Specialist Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems in relation to organizational data needs that help align the systems and processes. 
  • Provides back-up for payroll processing as needed. 
  • Manages employee information in Human Resources Information System (HRIS/UltiPro) for new hires, change of status, terminations, etc., ensuring that the data is correct and consistent.
  • Responsible for all maintenance and electronic filing of employee documentation and records.
  • Regularly audits system for accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Collaborates with HR Partners, Payroll, and Manager/Employee clients to research more complex systematic and employee related issues
  • May provide employees with standard information regarding department and organizational HR practices and procedures as they relate to the HRIS system.
  • Manages customer management cases and tasks related to implementation and/or general support issues.
  • Partners with SME on planning and execution of module implementation, roll-out, training, and development. 
  • Owns system development, configuration, user training.
  • Develops, builds, and runs reports on HR Metrics such as turnover, headcount, workforce effectiveness metrics, departmental information.
  • Creates specialized data projects such as employee history and compensation tables.
  • Works with Accounting, Operations and IT to provide current employee data for use in departmental metrics and employee support.
  • Continuously thinks about the companies evolving needs and aligns the people-related systems to support those needs.
  • Manages sensitive and confidential information consistently.
  • May be assigned special projects as needed within the HR Department.

 

HRIS Specialist Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field, and/or equivalent work experience required.
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience working in HRIS System such as UltiPro or other related systems required.
  • Microsoft Office experience required.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment regulations.
  • Experience with HRIS/UltiPro report writing is a must.
  • Advanced knowledge of HR processes for data entry into HCM, preferably UltiPro.
  • Advanced knowledge of HR processes and procedures for maintenance and purging of personnel files.
  • General knowledge of benefits eligibility requirements.
  • Skilled in managing sensitive and confidential information.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Prior payroll experience preferred but not required.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP Preferred

 

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • This position operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, and filing cabinets
  • Work environment is indoors with majority of time spent sitting/standing at a desk
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, walk, twist and turn
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard and calculator

 

Position Type, Expected Hours of Work, and Travel:

  • This is a full-time position
