Description

Yesler is looking for its next full-time editor to lend support to all kinds of marketing collateral—from ads to blogs to emails to web copy—for a variety of clients as part of an integrated marketing team. Job responsibilities include proofreading and editing; adhering to style sheets; and working in client publishing tools. The Editor will work with other roles in Creative, including designers, developers, writers, and other members of the agency team, to help improve Yesler content creation overall. The role flexes to support collaborative and efficient teamwork, maintaining an open and creative posture to problem solving. Responding to and incorporating feedback with grace is a trademark feature of the role.


Responsibilities:

  • Understand Yesler’s service offerings in a holistic way
  • Be part of the creative process and offer strong recommendations when needed
  • Work with a team of editors across a variety of accounts
  • Edit case studies, blog posts, email, landing pages, white papers, e-books, infographics, ads, and other B2B marketing copy for both digital and print
  • Adhere to editing schedules and checklists
  • Help ensure content is written for the correct audience and is consistent in tone and style
  • Rely on style guides, editing guides, and writer guides
  • Work closely with designers and assist in doc-to-design checks
  • Use a variety of software platforms to publish content for clients
  • Balance deadline requirements with high quality standards
  • Collaborate with a large project team and help to represent the editorial function
  • Support all-up company goals and integration with other groups
  • Help generate ideas and seek out new responsibilities and learning opportunities
  • Advocate for quality and the editing process

 Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 4-year relevant degree or equivalent certification program
  • 3+ years professional experience as a proofreader, production editor, associate editor, or similar role
  • Detail-oriented
  • Expert knowledge of grammar and spelling
  • Experience working in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • Comfort with learning and troubleshooting new tools and software as processes change
  • Ability to communicate clearly and provide constructive feedback in a tactful, helpful way
  • Can thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Sense of humor, humility, and confidence required
