Development Engineer in pump technology and fluid dynamics

Xylem is looking for a Development Engineer to strengthen the pump technology team. Are you interested in the opportunity to develop leading products both technically and commercially in a world-leading company this may be the job for you!

Responsibilities

As a Development Engineer, you get an important role in our product development projects where you as a specialist has the overall responsibility for pump and mixer performance. In addition, you will also have a driving role in our technology development where the focus is on innovative solutions in pumping, mixing and intelligent control with the purpose to reduce the total cost of ownership for Xylem’s customers.

The role includes:

  • Overall responsibility for component performance in product and technology development projects
  • Detail design of the flow surfaces in pumps and mixers using internally developed and commercial design and CFD software
  • Function verification on pre-series and prototype products in our test lab
  • Statistical analysis of production test data for follow-up of performance
  • Technical support and problem solving in collaboration with our product quality testing, commercial teams, and customers

You will belong to a team consisting of two Method Developers and four additional Development Engineers. The position is located at Xylem's office in Sundbyberg.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have an academic education with a focus on fluid mechanics, either a recent graduate or with a few years of relevant work experience. 

You have a broad technical knowledge, have a sense of pragmatic goal-oriented problem solving and are comfortable working in projects. You will work in a free role under your own responsibility, both independently and in project form. It is therefore important that you are clear in communication and are pro-active and goal-oriented to be able to deliver qualitative solutions on time.

To succeed in the role, it is important that you have a high analytical ability, are inspired by complex problems, and have the persistence and accuracy required to evaluate concepts and test solutions in the lab. We are a non-prestigious and experienced team with a passion for innovation, who strive to help each other to deliver top-class results!

Good knowledge of English is necessary to be able to communicate with your colleagues both locally and globally in the company. Previous experiences of pumps, measurement technology and CFD are considered valuable.
