Position Summary   

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join us in the UK. You will provide guidance and support to our entire business in the preparation, review, and negotiation of bids and contracts. You will work on complex projects and contracts in support of the business and will be required to exercise a high level of critical thinking and business judgment. The role requires an understanding of business strategy, legal issues, and financial implications. You will also be responsible for helping setting up a Europe-wide Contract Management process building on existing policies and procedures in the region.    

   

Responsibilities:     

  • Provides support and guidance to our business in the timely review and negotiation of contract documents, bids, and proposals as a part of a cross-functional team (management, sales teams, project management teams, and engineering teams).
  • Exercise independent business judgment to counsel the business on commercial terms and contracting strategies.
  • Ensure the identification of commercial risk, develop and implement effective mitigation strategies and actions and report the risk and progress with mitigation strategies internally
  • Ensure commercial integrity and compliance with all applicable policies, processes and legislation with specific responsibility for responding to the commercial aspects, including customer terms and conditions
  • Negotiate directly with customers on matters ranging from sale of standard products to multi-million projects.
  • Develop and administer processes for bid submission, response to solicitations, and contract approval.
  • Proposing updates to policies, processes and procedures for continuous improvement and in line with our high impact culture
  • Provide training to sales teams, project management teams, and engineering teams.

   

Key competencies:     

  • 5-10 years of experience in a contract management and negotiation role within a corporate setting.
  • Working knowledge of contracts and standard contracting terms for supply of goods and services
  • Experience exercising autonomous business judgment in a corporate setting and working as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Good written and verbal skills are essential together with commercial awareness and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Solid organisational and administrative skills gained in a customer focused environment.
  • Ability to take full ownership and responsibility for completing the tasks required
  • Computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Project, Word etc) and with experience of using in house systems
  • Although not required, a legal background or technical/engineering background is preferred.
