THE ROLE: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Supplier Diversity and Compliance Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our company's supplier base reflects our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to promote supplier diversity and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. This role will be based out of Charlotte, NC, Raleigh-Durham, NC, or Bridgeport, NJ. This is a hybrid role.  

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 

  • Responsible for ensuring that Strategic suppliers are being engaged and utilized in project budgets over designated threshold and act as the Strategic Sourcing representative at a project level
  • Develop and implement a supplier diversity vision and strategy aligned with Xylem’s goals and values.
  • Identify opportunities to increase the diversity of Xylem’s supplier base, including minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned, LGBTQ+-owned, and other diverse businesses.
  • Research and identify diverse suppliers that meet the company's quality and performance standards.
  • Attend networking and industry events to scout for new suppliers.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate supplier diversity goals into procurement processes.
  • Develop and implement tools to track diverse supplier participation.
  • Provide supplier diversity program trainings to Procurement teams, stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Assist Procurement teams in identifying diverse suppliers and key participation areas available from diverse suppliers.
  • Manage business relationship with diversity suppliers.
  • Report on established goals and metrics for diversity procurement.
  • Collaborate with Procurement Sustainability manager to report internally and externally.
  • Support Customer Required diverse spend reporting (Tier 2).
  • Collect and manage supplier certification records and data.
  • Analyze existing and future external legal regulations for supply chains (e.g. Conflict Minerals, Modern Anti-Slavery, Extended Minerals Reporting, etc.) and their potential impact on the Xylem upstream supply chain.
  • Ensure procurement processes are in line with regulations.
  • Cooperate with stakeholders (Product Management, Procurement, Legal, EHS, Diversity & Inclusion, XGP Leadership team) to ensure alignment.
  • Provide supplier compliance trainings to Procurement teams and stakeholders.
  • Suggest, manage, and control external 3rd party solution providers e.g. manage campaigns on Conflict Minerals CMRT supplier data assessment.
  • Act as first point of contact for legal and customers regarding supplier compliance inquiries.
  • Conduct routine spots checks on supplier compliance files to document ongoing operational quality, collects statistics, and submit reports on risks and recommendations.
  • Supporting the operational and data management of Xylem’s supply chain compliance program (Ecovadis) to drive supplier compliance maturity and minimize supply chain risk. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent.
  • At least five years of related procurement and/or supply chain, and supplier diversity procurement.
  • Proven background in compliance engineering
  • Strong experience in process management and program management.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to travel, maximum 20%.
