The Role: Xylem seeks to hire a Manager of Manufacturing Engineering who will be responsible for the facilities, maintenance, and Manufacturing Engineering operations for the Cheektowaga, NY facility.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:                        

  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities
  • Ensure routings are completed at a sufficient OTD%
  • Drive Manufacturing Engineering team to implement improvement projects in production
  • Drive Manufacturing Engineering team to execute on capital projects
  • Support production with required fixturing, tooling, dies, and processes
  • Lead equipment upgrade projects to bring equipment to an I4.0 level
  • Coordinate and prioritize maintenance and facilities activities
  • Develop Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance team to continually support the business
  • Drive a reduction in downtime and Mean-Time-To-Failure for all production equipment
  • Drive TPM program
  • Drive OEE% increase for all production equipment
  • Drive analysis and improvement of production processes
  • Production support and Lean Manufacturing experience {Lean Six Sigma (LSS), 6 Sigma, 5S/6S methodologies and practices or certification}.
  • Any other work/projects assigned
  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities

Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

  • BS Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Facilities Engineering, etc.) or related field or 10-15 years equivalent experience
  • Excellent collaborative interpersonal skills, ability to interface and communicate well with numerous stakeholders.
  • 3D modeling experience (preferably CREO)
  • 2D facility layout experience
  • Ability to manage capital projects
  • Ability to manage a team to a unified goal
  • Experience with Office Suite, including MS Project and MS Visio

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Visual Basic experience
  • Production support and Lean Manufacturing experience {Lean Six Sigma (LSS), 6 Sigma, 5S/6S methodologies and practices or certification}.
