About the role:

Mechanical Engineer performs mechanical design and optimization of pumps and components including motor drives under different technologies and variable frequency devices.  Define methodologies for testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, controls and follows up on test plans.

  • Perform mechanical design for the different product lines (current products optimization). This includes calculations, prototypes testing and drawings execution.
  • Develop special product configurations to meet specific requirements, including meeting and discussing solutions with large customers.
  • Support other Product Engineers in product mechanical components definition and qualification activities.
  • Support Application Engineers and After Sales Engineers in identifying potential application issues and solutions.
  • Perform technical assistance to Sales Support, Product Managers, Manufacturing, Quality.
  • Prepare and manage performances product data for literature as well as manufacturing/sourcing purposes (database for technical data, selection software, catalogues).
  • Support functional manager in processing certification requirements, submission and documentation.
  • Support other Product Engineers in: material selection, material analysis, analysis of product failures related to material issues.
  • Participate in team activities related to product performances improvement, cost reduction and quality improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical engineering degree (5 years)
  • Knowledge of CAD 3D software (Pro.Engineer preferred)
  • Solid in utilizing the Microsoft Office suite of tools (including Access)
  • Good spoken and written English
  • Responsibility for assigned duties and tools
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Flexibility
  • Three-five years of experience in the turbo-machinery industry would be preferred
