The Role:  Continuous Improvement & Assembly Supervisor

 

The supervisor is responsible for keeping a track of all the assemblers and manage the process for its efficient functioning. He keeps a record of all the production units, quality control, work procedures, and targets of the assemblers. The assembly supervisor is the person answerable for any production loss or problem occurred in this specific process and continuously drive the process for better productivity

 

 

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Through a local partnership, Xylem is in the process of establishing a production facility in Egypt, where selected product lines of the Xylem portfolio will be locally manufactured.

We are looking to hire a skilled  Continuous Improvement &Assembly supervisor organizing, planning, and coordinating plant assembly activities on a particular work shift.

The supervisor is responsible for keeping a track of all the assemblers and manage the process for its efficient functioning. He keeps a record of all the production units, quality control, work procedures, and targets of the assemblers. The assembly supervisor is the person answerable for any production loss or problem occurred in this specific process and continuously drive the process for better productivity

 

JOB OBJECTIVE

Main goals are:

  • Ensuring the engagement of all the assembly technicians in achieving Xylem Egypt manufacturing score card targets
  • Providing coaching and awareness over Xylem safety standards ensuring full compliance to procedures taking necessary measures for violations
  • Training the technicians and providing them adequate knowledge about the product, tooling and assembly process through assembly manual sheets
  • Allotting the new employees their workplaces
  • Educating the employees about the organization's rules and regulations and make them to follow it
  • Motivating the employees in achieving the production goals and targets and resolving conflicts
  • Maintaining records and documents of daily production and dispatched goods
  • Planning employee rules and shift timings
  •  
  • Coordinating technicians HR related matters with HRBP
  • Leveling and assigning production activities according to SC production plan
  • Preparing monthly and yearly reports and presenting them before the production or manufacturing managers
  • Communicating with the employees to understand their problems and make necessary changes.
  • Studying operations cycle time, solving bottlenecks and driving for productivity improvement
  • Reviewing and acting upon PFMEA action plan, internal and external quality reports to drive for overall cost of quality reduction according to QHSE priorities
  • Conduct regular audits and ensure process compliance with local and global procedures

Coordinating lean activities across the operation to drive for manufacturing cost reduction

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

 

Internal: reporting sales companies, regional management, HQ management, T

External: customers, distributors, consultants, industry governing authorities & regulators

 

REQUIRED SKILLS / EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • 5-8 Years of supervisory experience.
  •  Sr. Mechanical Engineer with experience in pumps and tank operations
  • Expert mathematical skills with the ability to compute ratio and percentage
  • Good statistical skills with knowledge of drawing and interpreting bar graphs
  •  
  • Experience in CNC machine operation
  • Key competencies: Driving for results, managing through systems, problem solving, process management, dealing with ambiguity, communication and time management skills

Fluent Arabic speaker. Good command of English language
