The Role:             
This is an excellent opportunity in our Business Unit Analytics  for an experienced Business Development Manager to work with a global team of smart and ambitious people.   
Xylem Analytics presents itself as one of the leading providers in the field of laboratory and process measurement technology with a multi-modular, comprehensive product portfolio. Proven premium brands as well as innovative new developments from our own research and development meet the high demands for precise, reliable, simple and low-maintenance quantitative and qualitative measurement analysis. We offer first-class measurement technology and expertise in the analysis of quantitative and qualitative measurement parameters for a variety of application areas such as wastewater, drinking water, groundwater, agriculture, aquaculture, the beverage and food industry, pharmaceuticals, medicine, the automotive and energy sectors and other industries.    
The BDM will:      
  • report directly to Country Analytics Manager for the Italian market
  • be responsible for sales and business development of Xylem Analytics lab portfolio in defined territory or market
  • be responsible for sales and business development of Xylem Analytics service lab in defined territory or market
  • provide reporting and forecast
  • It is an external role with a large % of time spent with our local sales Xylem team to promote Xylem solutions
  • Manages demonstrations with customers
  • Manages technical and sales training with customers
  • Manages the applications issues of the customers
  • Work with the service department to resolve any customer disputes
  • Develop sales and support materials and training programs
  • Provides reporting and forecast
  • Has a strong focus on Opportunity Pipeline/Key Account Plan/Value Selling
  • Management of distribution accounts required
  • Liaising with global product managers of our company

Experience in key markets of environment, water municipalities, aquaculture, and research will be an advantage.

Qualifications required:                

  • Technical Bachelor’s degree in a science field.
  • 3  to 10  yearsexperience in water or environmental market with focus on lab side
  • Experience working with a manufacturer of instrumentation, liaising and feeding back information and opportunities  
  • Previous experience selling analytical instruments in water or environmental markets
  • Previous experience selling analytical service in water or environmental markets
  • Fluent in English and Italian language (German is a plus)
  • Familiar with the Microsoft software pack
  • Familiar with SDFC or other CRM

Travel requirement: 60% of the time             

Location: Area assigned North and Central Italy   

Office: Lainate (MI) and Sanoara (PD)    

Contract: Permanent
