Job Summary:

Promote and sell the organization’s products and services within an assigned geographic area, product range, or list of customer accounts to achieve significant sales targets with special focus on long cycle projects in water treatment technologies like oxidation, disinfection, secondary treatment, filtration among others; considering special applications, exotic materials and risky opportunities but not limited to this description.

 

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

  • Pursue sales leads; visit existing and new customers; assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products and services; respond to customer enquiries; negotiate prices and delivery times within limits of authority; and conclude sales orders to meet revenue targets.
  • Identify, research, and contact prospective customers and build positive relationships that will generate future sales and repeat business.
  • Refer sales leads, customer feedback, and information on competitor activity to appropriate contacts within the organization so that they can respond to changing market conditions and customer demands.
  • Establish annual, quarterly, monthly, or weekly sales plans and prioritize and schedule own activities so these targets are met.
  • Develop long-term sales plans for key customers and accounts and monitor and adapt sales activities so that these objectives are met.
  • Build consultative relationships with municipal end users, consultant engineering firms, and utility contractors to position Xylem solutions to solve customer’s issues and become a permanent influencer on Bid documents.
  • Create synergy opportunities for cross-business consultative selling based on an understanding and awareness of the Xylem solution set.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced sales representatives to achieve their sales targets.
  • Be alert to competitive products and practices and keep management informed of market conditions, competitive scope and approach, and any trends in the marketplace.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with all regional front end long cycle sales team to bring and secure high percentage of success in key opportunities linked to Xylem portfolio.
  • Hard work on project from feasibility studies to influence on technical bid documents.
  • Early filtering of opportunities to define if pursuing opportunity or not.

Key Relationships:

  • External: government agencies, engineering companies and final users to become a permanent influencer on bid documents
  • Internal:  To stablish network with LAR CTs sales teams, with AEs & Xylem factories

Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:

Required Qualifications:

Minimal education & experience, essential skills & abilities and required license/certification to perform this job.

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field.
  • + 5 years of sales experience in water treatment sales field: drinking water, wastewater, industrial applications, specially in Food & Beverage
  •  Engineering knowledge in oxidation, disinfection, filtration, secondary & tertiary treatment processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of consultative/value-based selling.
  • Ability to present product education seminars to groups of 20-40 people is a must.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with customers, employees, and management team.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective negotiation and influencing skills along with knowledge of selling practices and techniques.
  • Intuitive self-starter who can bring a demonstrated high-energy problem-solving attitude to all situations.
  • Ability to manage and organize multiple priorities in a poised, self-driven manner.
  • English / Spanish fluency
