THE ROLE: The Manager, Finance Systems will collaborate with members within all business functions to drive transformation and process improvement across all of Xylem’s finance enabling technologies.  This role is a hands-on role and will support our current and future state finance applications by providing on-going support and develop enhancements. You will interact with our team of finance, accounting, procurement, global process owners, and IT professionals to manage/grow the company’s cornerstone finance application platforms.   

Key responsibilities include managing, implementing, and maintaining financial software applications, overseeing system upgrades and enhancements, and providing technical support to end-users.

To excel in this role, a strong understanding of finance and accounting processes is essential, as you will be required to analyze financial transactions and data, identify trends, and provide insights to support decision-making. Additionally, knowledge of application administration is crucial to ensure the smooth functioning of financial systems and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.

Overall, the ideal candidate for this position should possess a combination of financial acumen, technical expertise, and strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement in financial systems management.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:  To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.       

  • Build, manage and nurture a solid relationship with internal customers and align resources and priorities to ensure consistent adoption and continuous satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership for developing, implementing, and servicing Finance and Accounting systems.
  • Manage the analysis, modeling and monitoring of the Finance and Accounting organization, business processes and systems to solve technical business problems and optimize system operations.
  • Participate in and lead the design, documentation, implementation and continuous improvement of Finance and Accounting systems across the company. 
  • Ensure the success of all Finance and Accounting system projects through direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of projects, ensuring consistency with Finance and Accounting strategy, commitments and goals.
  • Identify Finance and Accounting business requirements and the re-engineering of current processes.  Translate business requirements into specific technical specifications.
  • Partner with the IT group on Finance and Accounting system development and configuration projects for all finance enabling technologies.
  • Lead efforts to establish and maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with the Finance and Accounting organization and align IT to adhere to the agreements so as to provide an optimal level of quality support services to all customers.
  • Act as a change champion and advocate benefits and adoption of standardized policies, processes and systems throughout the company.  

QUALIFICATIONS:     

  • Degree in Business, Accounting/Finance, Information Technology
  • 5+ years of experience managing Finance and Accounting processes and systems. 
  • Strong acumen in financial management, financial processes and systems, data governance and business analytics
  • Experience leading and developing a team of systems analysts.
  • Knowledge and understanding of business relationship management, system analysis, governance, project management and software development lifecycle.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate technology concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Poise and ability to act calmly and competently in high-pressure, high-stress situations.
  • Must be a critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills, able to manage multiple projects under strict timelines, work well in a demanding dynamic environment and meet overall objectives.
  • Project management skills; financial/budget management, scheduling and resource management.
  • High level of personal integrity, and the ability to professionally handle confidential matters and show an appropriate level of judgment and maturity.
  • High degree of initiative, dependability and ability to work with little supervision.
  • Hands on experience with one or more of the following applications:  Coupa, High Radius, Concur, SAP S4, Oracle EBS, Catalyst, Emagia, Get Paid or Ariba.
  • Strong knowledge of master data management and concepts
  • Experience with one or more technical coding/query languages.  Eg: SQL, Python, VB.Net, C#, C++, etc.
  • Experience in a multi-system landscape support
  • Familiarity with compliance and governance controls 

The estimated salary range at this professional level is $110,000 to $150,000 plus bonus.   Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.  At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, Wellness programs, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
