THE ROLE: The Product Master Data Management Domain Lead leads the design, development and implementation of the product and part (material) master data management domains. This professional will direct the product and part (material) master data management and data governance programs defining standards and processes to serve both short term and long term needs of the business which align with industry best practices.  The individual will facilitate workshops with the business to define current state and future state, documenting all processes and standards.  They will develop a rollout plan and ensure the on-going success of the program.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:  To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     

  • Help develop, maintain and support the master data management and data governance strategy working with data leadership team.
  • Partner with the business to design and documents processes and define standards for managing Product and Part (material) master data through workshops, surveys, and other to-be determined channels
  • Ensure all defined processes and standards are aligned to best practices
  • Work with the technical team to define a solution architecture to support defined processes and standards using Informatica and other tools as needed
  • Create SOPs for all product and part (material) master data standards and processes
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance program for Product and Part (material) to ensure on-going quality and adherence to standards
  • Facilitate the end to end processes for managing product and part (material) master to ensure ongoing compliance to the defined processes
  • Ensure standards and processes are adhered to in order to enable the quality use of downstream systems and analytics
  • Conduct data quality assessments and implement measures to improve data accuracy, completeness, and consistency for product and part (material) data
  • Perform root cause analysis of data governance and data quality issues; make remediation business cases and improvement plans
  • Conduct training as you deploy new data processes or standards
  • Ensures compliance of government or regulatory standards (SOX, PCI, internal audit, external audit, etc.).
  • Accountable and responsible for collaborating with our business-facing teams for Operations across all Xylem’s sites.
  • Align master data management and data governance standards, processes, and rollout with the Global ERP rollout
  • Engage with the ERP team handle governance, planning, acquisition, development, and delivery of new and existing data capabilities in ERP.

QUALIFICATIONS:   

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of Information Systems experience.
  • Master Data Management and Data Governance Strategy Development Experience
  • Master Data Experience with Product and Part (Material) Domain
  • Experience facilitating business workshops and developing into global implemented processes and standards
  • Project and Product management
  • Business Analyst Experience
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with users of varying levels of technological understanding.
  • Strong technical documentation skills.
  • Possesses good time management skills and has the ability to self-manage support/issue priorities.
  • Ability to prioritize, lead, and direct multi-functional teams to address and solve technical and business issues.
  • Experience working effectively in a globally dispersed team environment.
  • Leadership and accountability to maintain relationships with peers and customers.
  • Experience in people management, talent development and performance management.
  • Experience in resource and performance management.

Technical Knowledge

  • 5 or more years of experience in the deploying and supporting of complex solutions using master data and data governance technologies.
  • Informatica Experience (a plus)
  • SAP ERP Implementation Experience (a plus)
  • Experience bringing data from many diverse systems including many ERPs to enable a single source of truth
  • Management experience in all aspects of an information systems environment.
  • Demonstrable ability to coordinate or lead multiple projects and activities with relevant priorities.
  • Understand service models and prioritization based on impacts on business operations.

DAY IN THE LIFE:  

In this role, the working environment is generally in an office setting and may be performed remotely.  The physical demands may include but are not limited to moving around in an office environment, frequent oral communication, close vision, and ability to operate office equipment.  Up to 20% time spent traveling.  

SALARY:  

The estimated salary range at this professional level is $125,000 to $150,000.   Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.  At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, Wellness programs, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
