About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Staff Engineer specialised in MS Windows platform to join our Global IT Infra.team and support a secure, highly available, and enterprise-scale Windows infrastructure. This is a hands-on, senior technical role for an individual who excels in system stability, troubleshooting, and platform modernization.
The role focuses on Windows Server and clustering technologies, while also supporting virtualization platforms such as VMware and Nutanix. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability of critical business systems.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and support enterprise Windows Server environments (Windows Server 2016/2019/2022).
  • Administer and maintain Windows Failover Clusters, ensuring high availability and operational resilience.
  • Perform Windows OS lifecycle management, including upgrades, patching, and security remediation.
  • Conduct Windows performance troubleshooting and tuning, covering CPU, memory, disk I/O, network, and service-level performance.
  • Administer and support RDP / RDS environments, including RDS farms, session hosts, brokers, and high-availability configurations.
  • Manage FTP and SFTP services, ensuring secure file transfer, access controls, and service availability.
  • Execute and govern server and application decommissioning processes, ensuring compliance, data cleanup, and proper documentation.
  • Develop and maintain automation using PowerShell scripting for administration, monitoring, reporting, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead server migration, consolidation, and modernization initiatives.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for Windows and platform-related issues.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, virtualization, network, and application teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and incident response as required.

Required Skills & Qualification

Primary Skills (Must Have)
  • Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server administration in enterprise environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server administration in enterprise environments.
  • Proven expertise in Windows Failover Cluster administration and high-availability design.
  • Windows performance troubleshooting and tuning, including system-level diagnostics.
  • Administration of RDP / RDS farms, including secure access and scalability.
  • Experience managing FTP / SFTP services in secure production environments.
  • Strong understanding of and hands-on experience with server decommissioning processes, including risk and dependency management.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation, monitoring, and operational tasks.

Secondary Skills (Good to Have)

  • Hands-on experience in VMware administration, including ESXi and vSphere environments.
  • Experience administering Nutanix platforms, including Windows workload hosting and lifecycle management.
  • Solid understanding of virtualization best practices and their impact on Windows and clustered systems.

Optional / Preferred Skills

  • Working knowledge of Active Directory administration, including users, groups, and Group Policy.
  • Familiarity with DNS and DHCP services.
  • Exposure to backup and recovery solutions such as Veeam, Commvault, or similar tools.
  • Experience with hybrid or cloud-based Windows environments is a plus.
