Job Summary

The XPERI Business Applications team is a group of high-energy individuals who focus on meeting objectives by providing innovative solutions and bringing clarity and simplicity to complex business and technology problems.  A critical component of this team is the Integration and Data Management team who in conjunction with our analysis team, gather requirements, identify opportunities, and facilitate solution creation and implementation. We have an opening for an individual to join this team as a Sr. Integrations Engineer and help us deliver on our upcoming roadmap of exciting projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for the qualified candidate to leverage his/her seasoned Integration skills to impact a diverse set of process gaps with state-of-the-art solutions.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will support our existing Enterprise Data Warehouse. Will work closely with Lead Developers, Architects, analysts, functional leaders, organizational units, and subject matter experts to identify develop, and deploy new interfaces that are core to our business.

A solid background in various software development lifecycles (SDLCs), and Agile, as well as a solid understanding and exposure to project artifacts such as business requirements documentation, design docs, and test plans, will be essential.

Often, the ideal candidate will participate in frequent and impromptu working sessions with team members that provide the candidate with opportunities to collaborate with systems programmers and business stakeholders to set specifications across the development lifecycle. 

The ideal candidate will be expected to:

  • Technical solutions expert with an aptitude for technical advising, troubleshooting, and analysis, with strong communication skills.
  • Create and maintain optimal, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective data pipeline architecture
  • Comfortable working with various data types – Streaming / API/ Scheduled / Poll
  • Create large, complex data sets to meet functional / non-functional business requirements
  • Support testing activities, including unit testing, integration testing, and UAT
  • Work with stakeholders including Commerce, Product, Engineering, IT, HR, Finance Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data needs.
  • Build and Support current data architecture in cloud native warehouse - BIRST
  • Help Architect and Migrate our existing Warehouse solutions to more modern DW/Data Lake solutions using one of the tools - Snowflake and/or Redshift, Google Big Query
  • Translate business requirements into technical specification documents (HLD/LLD)
  • Document and demonstrate solutions by developing the documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.
  • Strong working knowledge of Data Formats and their use case(s) - JSON, CSV, Avro, Parquet
  • Strong knowledge of AWS serverless architecture including Kinesis / Data Streams / Firehose
  • Identify potential areas for improvement to promote efficiency and automation
  • Develop monitoring and reporting features to make sure interfaces are working as expected
  • Participate in support and troubleshooting of issues.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in engineering, computer science, or information technology or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5-6 years of software or systems engineering experience with a minimum of 4 years of Data Engineering experience architecting, configuring, deploying, and supporting Enterprise-wide Data solutions
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
  • A natural collaborator and problem solver.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies.
  • Experience with Cloud – AWS preferred.
  • Expert at Snowflake or Big Query/Redshift
  • Expert at building Data Pipelines using AWS architecture
  • Experience with Build Automation Tools like Jenkins/ Gitlab
  • Extremely comfortable with working with Relational and Non-Relational Databases
  • Comfortable working with various Data Categories – Structured/Unstructured/Semi-Structured
  • Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.
  • Participate in on-call rotation support (level 3)
  • Retail, Finance, Sales, HR, IT, Provisioning domain knowledge
