Challenger Fleet Chief Pilot
The Challenger Fleet Chief Pilot has direct oversight of their respective fleet and have the responsibility and authority for the management of their crew. The Fleet Chief Pilot reports to the Director of Operations. Additionally, they report to the System Chief Pilot on standardization and operational procedure elements.
They are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of their fleet through:
- Robust process and procedures being readily available to all.
- Thorough and regular training in all aspects being conducted.
- Safeguarding the crew’s welfare, ensuring the team is motivated, aligned with the company culture and supported adequately to operate safely and efficiently.
- They are responsible for the content and regular review of the Flight Standards Manual through which they set and implement Standard Operating Procedures and technical standards, in co-ordination with the System Chief Pilot, to ensure safe and efficient operations of their fleet which are compliant with all relevant National, International and Company regulations and provisions of the Certificate.
- They adopt and strive to exceed appropriate industry best practices.
- They submit any changes of procedures to the Director of Operations and System Chief Pilot for approval.
- They are responsible for the operational checklists (expanded and abbreviated) and must consult with Maintenance for any changes that might affect the airworthiness of the aircraft.
- They highlight changes to the operating procedures, such as amendments to the operations manuals, to all crew in a timely manner.
- They are responsible for the availability of all documentation required for the crew members to familiarize themselves with the laws, regulations, and company procedures pertinent to the performance of their duties.
- They continuously verify the availability and the completeness of the documents and forms required for to be carried on-board their fleet in hard of soft copy.
- Conduct interviews as required to ensure that the fleet remains staffed appropriately to levels set by the company.
- Ensures all flight crew are licensed and rated as appropriate to their position and that such licenses and ratings are current and valid.
- In conjunction with the DO, set annual departmental objectives which support the Company Vision and business objectives for all direct reports.
- Conducts annual performance evaluations, including bonus and salary increase approval / denial for all direct reports.
- Handle employee complaints or suggestions and take appropriate disciplinary action, in accordance with company policies and in coordination with Director of
- They keep Part 119 Management Personnel informed of all relevant facts and irregularities of day-to-day operations as related to crew and operations.
- They report whenever they deem necessary in the interest of safety and cost optimization.
- They promote the corporate culture for safety through training and promotion activities.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Meet the qualifications and experience as required by FAR 119.69 and 119.71 for a Chief Pilot under FAR Part 135.
- FAA First Class Medical
- ATP rated
- Restricted Radiotelephone Operators Permit
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid passport
- Impeccable safety record
- A strong work ethic and excellent team member
- Excellent Crew Resource Management skills
