Summary

The Principal Cloud Software Engineer is a team player working across multiple organizations to deliver global highly available and resilient cloud infrastructure, platform solutions, and system integrations and API development for our growing team. You will work closely with software engineers and data engineers across ED&A, Enterprise Architecture, Pricing, Marketplace, Finance, Ops, Consumer and Sales teams. Our strategic infrastructure is AWS (many services), Serverless designs, Postgres, ERP systems, mobile and web applications.

Design & Development

  • Design, develop, and deliver cloud-based solutions using IaC in CICD pipelines.
  • Work with various languages and frameworks including Python, Typescript, Java, bash, Pulumi.
  • Design enterprise datastores and APIs using relational and non-relational storage engines.
  • Create integration solutions with existing ERP systems.
  • Design multi-AZ and multi-region, highly available, resilient solutions.

Project Coordination

  • Work with team members across various departments to generate consensus, plan, and execute multiple projects.
  • Develop and test business continuity plans.
  • Have fun, learn, and grow.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required education and experience

  • Bachelors degree or advanced degree in Computer Science
  • 10+ years’ hands-on development experience with enterprise-level teams
  • AWS Solutions Architect / Cloud Practitioner certification
  • Comfortable with full stack delivery: AWS Services (S3, SNS, SQS, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, ECS), Python, Typescript, Lambda, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL
  • 4+ years Docker experience
  • Demonstrated experience / understanding
    Designing, developing, and delivering highly available cloud-based solutions
  • Relational and non-relational datastore design
  • HTTP-based API development AWS Solutions Architect / Cloud Practitioner certification

Supervisory responsibilities

This position will not have direct reports.

Work environment

The primary work environment is in the office area. The noise level in the work environment is low.  

Physical demands

The physical demands of this position are typical of office environment.

Travel required

This position will require up to 15% travel. Occasional travel for technical off-sites.
