About the team - The Pricing Tech team at Vista Global consists of Business Intelligence Data Science (BIDS) and Pricing Intelligence Engineering (PIE) teams. The data science team (BIDS) is responsible for the core functionality of revenue management and pricing model development across the Vista global organization - Vistajet, XO, RWA, TalonAir etc. The team will be developing predictive and prescriptive models to optimize revenue, fleet utilization, demand models, supply models, dynamic pricing engine, and personalized pricing engine for the two sided marketplace.

 

What’s in it for you - As a Principal Data Scientist in the BIDS organization, you have an unparalleled opportunity to use your quantitative skills in statistics, machine learning, operations research, and programming skills in Python and SQL. You will answer high impact open questions for the business team, prototype ML algorithms, productize the algorithm in collaboration with the PIE team, design Randomized Control Trial (RCT) and Quasi experimentation to test your hypothesis, and drive business insights through data. You will be collaborating with Product Managers, Engineers, other Data Scientists/Engineers and Product Analysts to solve many complex problems while having a lot of fun. The team is growing exponentially offering ample opportunity to own additional responsibilities and disrupt the private jet aviation space. Responsibilities

  • Defining and evaluating key metrics for revenue optimization
  • Write white papers that can be shared outside on various forums and present to business stakeholders to explain solution to various problem statements
  • Creating forecast models for demand and supply to enable Revenue Management teams to optimize pricing
  • Lead, build, and maintain machine learning models such as dynamic pricing engine and personalized pricing engine that are core to our success as a marketplace for private aviation.
  • Building machine learning models and guiding a team of junior data scientists to solve complex problems for different divisions including Sales, Marketing, Flight Operations, and Consumer Growth.
  • Summarizing results and building dashboard to present findings to guide other stakeholders to make data driven decisions
  • Performing customer segmentation and analysis based on various features to understand price elasticity of various user segments.
  • Performing model evaluation and testing to improve accuracy and robustness
  • Maintain and update machine learning models to stay ahead of the change
  • Guide the team to build a scalable MLOps architecture
  • Work with product managers and engineers to turn prototypes into robust, reliable solutions

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field like Math, Statistics or Machine Learning
  • 5+ years experiences of professional industry experience in machine learning (Experience with models and analysis for pricing, targeting and experimentation a plus)
  • Deep understanding of machine learning algorithm and statistics
  • Strong in Python and SQL (Proficiency in NoSQL database technologies a plus)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to cross functional partners of varying technical levels
  • Experience with MLOps, worked on platforms such DataBricks, Sagemaker etc.
