UBE & Community Workforce Manager
Description
This role involves collaboration with executive leadership to develop a strong compliance program, guiding project teams in understanding and implementing UBE and community workforce requirements, and acting as a representative of XL within the community. The position requires a hybrid work model, involving both office and fieldwork in the Bay Area and Sacramento regions.
What You Will Do:
- Develop, finalize, and implement UBE Engagement, Utilization and Community Workforce Compliance documentation, policies and standard operating procedures.
- Facilitate the implementation of the UBE Solicitation Policy and standard operating procedures.
- Work with management and project teams to fulfill the company's values regarding supplier diversity.
- Conduct regular audits of company projects and departments to ensure adherence to UBE best practices.
- Educate and train employees on the UBE and Community Workforce program.
- Organize and lead UBE engagement events and represent XL Construction in the supplier community.
- Partner with local organizations advocating for UBE and community workforce utilization.
- Oversee the UBE and Community Workforce Program, focusing on utilization and reporting.
- Provide leadership oversight to project teams to achieve contracting and workforce inclusion goals and requirements.
- Develop bi-annual reports on companywide metrics and supplier feedback.
- Participate on boards and committees to provide thought leadership.
- Maintain XL’s position as a Mentor in a Mentor Protégé program for UBE firms.
- Expand the trade partner pool of UBE trade partners and support their prequalification.
What You Will Bring:
- Relevant BA/BS degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong relationships with diversity leaders within Northern Californian market sectors.
- Ability to understand public policy and legislative developments affecting community engagement and workforce development.
- Ability to build and maintain trust-based relationships with stakeholders.
- Experience with supplier/trade partner relations and diversity outreach.
- Knowledge of supplier diversity best practices and industry trends.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of construction management processes.
- Ability to analyze data, produce reports, and track UBE metrics.
- Track record of success in engaging business leaders and vendors in diversity initiatives.
- Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus
- DEI (CDP) Certification preferred
- Experience in union industries preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
In accordance with California’s pay transparency requirements, the base salary range for this position is $139,000 to 175,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Total compensation may also include performance-based bonuses.
