Sr Staff Accountant / Manager

SUMMARY:
At TimberQuest, the Senior Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting our financial operations by ensuring accurate and timely transaction processing, reporting, and compliance. Acting as a financial steward, this position helps safeguard company assets, uphold internal controls, and deliver reliable financial data that supports strategic decision-making across the business.

- Act as a financial gatekeeper to safeguard company assets and ensure adherence to corporate financial policies and risk controls
- Process daily transactions, including accounts payable, receivables, billings, and general ledger entries
- Track lien waivers, retention payments, and respond to vendor/subcontractor inquiries
- Prepare and file Sales and Use Tax returns
- Follow up on past due accounts receivable in coordination with project teams
- Manage cash tracking, reconciliation, and complete monthly bank reconciliations
- Prepare assigned balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations and assist with month-end close
- Review general ledger accounts for accuracy; investigate and correct discrepancies
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting
- Provide accounting guidance and support to project teams with a strong understanding of construction-specific processes
- Contribute to ad hoc analysis and special projects as requested
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with 3+ years in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the construction industry
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Viewpoint (Vista) preferred
- Proficiency with BI and budgeting tools, preferably Power BI and Prophix.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving approach
- Ability to thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
In accordance with California’s pay transparency requirements, the base salary range for this position is $94,000 – $110,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Total compensation may also include performance-based bonuses.
