Role Overview: 
We are seeking a Integration Engineer with a strong technical foundation and a passion for building reliable, scalable integrations between enterprise systems. As part of the Data Team within the broader Business Technology Service, you will work in direct collaboration with the Enterprise Data Architect and have frequent interaction with IT professionals, data analysts, and reporting teams.  
 
You will co-design, deploy, and monitor a centralized integration solution, to streamline operations and improve data flow across critical business systems. This includes refactoring existing integrations, developing new ones based on identified improvement areas, and proactively proposing innovative solutions by engaging with business teams to understand their challenges. 
 
This role requires autonomy, adaptability, and strong communication skills to thrive in a dynamic, non-structured environment[PP1] . You will also play a key role in centralizing monitoring, implementing proactive alerting, and ensuring timely resolution of issues. 
 
Key Responsibilities: 
Design, implement, and monitor integrations between enterprise systems using modern integration patterns and ESB principles.
  • Refactor legacy integrations for improved performance and reliability.
  • Develop new integrations based on business needs and identified gaps.
  • Centralize integration monitoring and implement proactive alerting and performance dashboards.
  • Ensure high availability, reliability, and compliance with security and governance standards.
Continuous Improvement
  • Suggest and implement improvements to integration architecture.
  • Advocate for best practices in coding patterns, DevOps, CI/CD, and automation.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Engage with business teams to understand pain points and propose integration solutions.
  • Build trust and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Document integration flows using diagrams and clear technical text for audit readiness.
Success will be measured by integration reliability, reduced downtime, and improved data flow efficiency.
 
Knowledge & Technical Skills:
  • BSc/BA in Data Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Familiarity with integration patterns, ESB, messaging systems, and API management platforms.
  • Minimum 3 years of application integration experience in Azure Logic Apps, MuleSoft, Boomi, IBM App Connect, SAP CPI, Apache Camel, Talend Open Studio, or similar.
  • Experience with XML, XSLT, JSON, REST, and SOAP.
  • Strong knowledge of Python and C# (classes, functions, modular design).
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and coding standards.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data manipulation.
  • Understanding of data modeling, enterprise data models, and event-driven architecture.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex integration issues.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Approachable, trustworthy, and proactive in problem-solving.

Compensation & Benefits: 
In accordance with California’s pay transparency requirements, the base salary range for this position is $138,000 – $172,500 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Total compensation may also include performance-based bonuses.
