SME Software Engineer (Porting/Migration & ASP.NET Core Specialist) – TS

Top Secret with SCI eligibility

Responsibilities:

• Assisting Mission Application developers with migrating existing applications to the Linux environment for execution on Linux-based IronBank hardened containers, including transition from Windows-based ASP.Net technologies to cross-platform ASP.NET Core technologies suitable for the Linux runtime environment. 
•  Serve as a Senior Software Engineering SME supporting secure full-stack application development across Linux and Windows environments.
• Design, develop, integrate, and maintain ASP.NET Core and .NET Framework applications using secure software development practices. 
• Develop and support applications across relational and NoSQL database environments, ensuring scalability, security, and interoperability. 
• Apply software engineering principles across compiled and interpreted programming languages, operating systems, application frameworks, and diverse hosting environments.
• Design, configure, and maintain self-hosted artifact repositories such as Artifactory, Nexus, NuGet, or similar platforms to support secure software development and deployment. 
• Provide technical guidance to Mission Application developers on application architecture, coding practices, integration, interoperability, and secure development standards. 
• Support the adoption of common development patterns, reusable components, and interoperable solutions across mission applications and technology stacks. 
• Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies and development tools to address evolving mission requirements while maintaining security and operational standards. 
• Troubleshoot complex application, database, integration, and deployment issues across heterogeneous environments. 
• Collaborate with engineering and development teams to establish secure, scalable, maintainable, and sustainable software solutions within DoD environments.

Minimum Requirement:

• Active Top Secret with SCI Eligibility
• Expertise in Secure Software Development across a full-stack domain, including database (relational and NoSQL) and application development (compiled and interpreted languages) in both Linux and Windows environments
• ASP.NET Core Software Development
• .Net Framework Software Development
• Expertise with self-hosted artifact repositories such as Artifactory/Nexus/NuGet/etc
• Must be comfortable applying software engineering principles to disparate languages, operating systems, and hosting environments holistically, learning new technologies as needed to support emergent mission needs, and providing guidance to Mission Application developers to build a culture of interoperability regarding sustained implementation of such objectives.
• 10+ Years of experience
• Master’s Degree or equivalent experience,
• Active Certified in DOD 8570/8140 IAT Level II or III

Preferred Qualification:

• Experience with Kendo/Telerik controls, familiarity with Scrum/Agile practices, expertise with ASP.Net MVC, and/or experience with System.
• Web based identity concepts (including Session management and X509-derived claims)
