Overview of job

Xaxis is an agency of GroupM, the world’s largest media investment company and are a part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally. We are currently looking for a Data Analyst to join us.

In this role, you will manage media advertising metadata from different sources. Know how to organize it and build regular reports for client. Provide solutions to client’s business according reliable data analysis. Help driving the science behind predicting and pricing the performance of the recommended media solution developed to deliver on the client’s business goals and marketing objectives. You will be an advisor to all internal teams when estimating & forecasting the value we can guarantee our clients will get in return from their media investment. You will drive the data-driven prediction of the variables and parts within the media solution (format, screen, audience, publisher, media quality) that impact the media solution’s overall contribution to the business goal as committed to the client.

You will conduct extensive and complex analyses to inform strategic decision making, and will define outcome and monetization strategies for our media plans, customized client solutions. You will also optimize product pricing to ensure accuracy and successful execution.

Reporting of the role:

You will report to the Director - Marketing Science APAC.

Responsibilities of the role:

Provide the newest advertising data to clients and planning teams regularly across the Asia Pacific region. You will play the role of pricing expert for go-to-market teams and devise pricing strategies for custom solutions / strategic deals. You will be driving the approach to achieving pricing rigour and science in our solutions and products.

The data sources you will be utilizing are:

Fast-moving feeds and slow-moving data, research on customer needs, historical data, Political-Economic-Social-Technological market conditions and internal business intelligence tools.

Your main stakeholders in the company:

Client Strategy, Outcome Media Specialists, Client Engagement and Product teams in the Regional Team based in Singapore

Tasks and Scope of Work:

1. Analyze Pricing Data

  • Assess data from a variety of sources and use it to derive insights into pricing strategies and market trends. Use quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze and set pricing of various products and solutions

2. Develop Forecasts and Models

  • Use a variety of statistical modeling methods to show the potential impact of various pricing strategies, including their effect on outcomes like Cost-Per-Desired Action.

3. Determine Pricing and Marketing Strategies

  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders to develop pricing strategies for media solutions.
  • Conduct hypothesis-driven analyses to identify and quantify pricing opportunities

4. Monitor Industry Trends

  • Maintain knowledge and stay abreast of developments in the industry via information obtained from financial publications and services, government agencies, company sources, and personal interviews. Keep a look out for trends that may have the potential to impact our pricing strategies.

5. Develop Pricing Tools

  • Take initiative to develop pricing tools that can be used by our teams to quickly respond to request for proposals. As well as tools that streamline the analysis process and provide more immediate information about inventory and supply prices.

6. Present Findings to Key Decision-Makers

  • Present your analysis and findings to stakeholders in relevant forums through weekly or monthly meetings. Translate complex data into actionable strategies and techniques to drive sales and enhance marketing efforts.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, operations, research, statistics, math, economics, or related analytical discipline preferred 
  • Yield management experience with planning, forecasting, and business analysis
  • Experience within one of these industries - Media, Advertising, AdTech
  • Work cross-functionally throughout the organization to drive analysis-driven change
  • Demonstrated complex problem resolution proficiency
  • Proficiency with analytical and presentation tools {Statistical packages, Excel pivot tables, SQL queries, graphing, PowerPoint}
  • In-depth knowledge of BI tools (Tableau, Cognos, Business Objects or SPSS)
  • Practical experience analyzing data, programme metrics and performance

  • Mathematics – excellent mathematical skills to derive insights from multiple data sources and utilize them to develop models and provide pricing advice to decision-makers
  • Team collaboration – to work closely with teams and markets

  • Communication skills – It is vital to be strong in written and verbal communicators, since you will need to present your findings through reports and presentation
