Role: Associate Director / Director of Analytics (Growth Strategy & Analytics) India

This is an opportunity to lead and shape a team that will be the gateway to leveraging the huge amount of data that flows  

through Groundtruth’s location platform every day. You will design metrics and KPIs to monitor the business, conduct  

experiments to improve the quality and scale of data, support development of data products and drive insight generation  

from our rich datasets. This work will empower sales, marketing, data strategy and supply teams to better leverage our  

data in working with clients, publishing insights and setting strategy to grow our business. Once established in the role,  

this person will also help drive growth strategy in the APAC region.  

A successful applicant would have demonstrated ability in delivering analytics in global organizations, leading analytics  

teams, delivering time critical analysis, being able to work independently to design metrics and analysis frameworks and  

solve complex open-ended problems.  

This will be an exciting and challenging role that will enable you to work with very large data sets, expose you to cutting  

edge analysis techniques and gain experience in the usage of location data to drive businesses.  

You will:  




Report to the head of strategy and corporate development for GroundThruth globally based in New York, USA  

Lead a team of managers and analysts and deliver analytics, data operations, and insights to the global organization  

Serve as a GroundTruth Data Officer presenting updates and risk to the executive team formally throught the year, per MRC  

requirements. Also a key point of contact for analytics efforts and co-ordinate across teams in different countries  

Work closely with geo / blueprints, marketing, sales, data science, and product teams  



Solve difficult questions using data and find ways to simplify huge amounts of data into actionable insights to improve the  

company.  



Create metrics and KPIs and monitor the performance of our business and deliver updates to stakeholders  

Investigate and develop new methods to leverage geospatial data for user insights based on real world visitation trends and  

drive value for brands, business consumers and users  






You have:  


Ability to drive team forward, improving their skill and garnering output, while keeping morale high and employees  

engaged  








Ability to deliver in a global organization and network across the world (inclusive of getting on late calls)  

BS/MS/MBA/PhD degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Business or related fields  

10-15 years of relevant work experience in data analysis and operations and 8+ years’ experience in leading analytics teams  

Demonstrate ability to work independently and with teams to deliver complex analysis  

Experienced in running trainings and mentor programs for managers and analysts  

Demonstrate ability to design analytical solutions and write code to implement the solution  

Perform data operations to subset, sort, merge, aggregate, join and re-shape datasets in a variety of environments (Excel,  

SQL, Hive, R/Python); Perform CRUD operations in different environments.  





Experience managing large data sets; desire to continue to gain expertise in managing very large data sets  

Familiarity with Linux/Unix shell and command line tools  

Experience building analytics applications leveraging R, Python, Tableau, Looker or other  

Experience with SQL, Excel (Pivot tables, PowerPivot, Visualization), R/Python  

How you can impress us:  








Experience in geo-spatial analysis with POSTGIS, QGIS  

10+ years of experience in global delivery and leading multiple analytics teams  

Experience dealing with large datasets and log file data  

Experience with AWS analytics infrastructure (Redshift, S3, Athena, Boto3)  

Experience with Hadoop / Spark analytics tools and infrastructure  

Experience with using iPython / Zeppelin notebooks / RMarkdown for reproducible analysis  

Experience with building code repositories (git) and knowledge management solutions (wiki, other)
