Systems Engineer III (Design and Integration)
Description
- Provide ownership, responsibility, and accountability over technical scope involving the coordination of multiple individual contributors working in a specific area
- Work across engineering disciplines and the business to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of systems, processes, and the organization
- Apply systems thinking and take a holistic approach to solve problems, analyze and design systems, considering the interdependencies and interactions between various components
- Optimize processes and systems to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, effectively use resources (time, money, materials, and energy), and improve productivity using methodologies like six-sigma and lean
- Facilitate the collection, analysis, and modeling of data to make informed, data-driven decisions about system design and process improvements
- Support engineering projects and programs throughout the systems engineering lifecycle to lead and manage efforts surrounding Stakeholder and Operational analysis; Requirement identification, decomposition, and management; Functional decomposition and modeling; Logical system architecture development and modeling; Physical product definition, interface management, and change control; Design integration and testing; System verification and validation; Concept of operations development and modeling
- Lead the identification and monitoring of technical risks and the development of risk mitigation strategies
- Support value engineering activities including cost analyses, economic feasibility assessments, and cost reduction opportunity identification
- Write and review engineering documentation, reports, and communicate technical details and project progress to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Develop and implement systems engineering processes, and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools integrated into X-energy’s quality management framework
- Create documentation for processes and standard operating procedures; and collaborate with the training team to train employees on new processes and systems to ensure smooth implementation
- Perform operations management, production planning, and supply chain optimization activities to ensure efficient process flow and use of resources
- Perform project management functions such as planning, scheduling and risk management
- Perform work in accordance with X-energy quality assurance procedures to ensure engineering products meet required standards
- Always maintain professional demeanor and behavior in all forms of communication
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering, or other engineering related discipline from an ABET accredited university required
- 5+ years of experience in an engineering role required (A master’s degree in engineering or related field may be in lieu of two years of experience; a Ph.D. in engineering or related field) may be in lieu of three years of experience)
- Experience and/or knowledge in a minimum of one of the following areas: System Lifecycle Processes (ISO 15288); Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Tools and Methods & Product Lifecycle Management Systems; Operations Research & Data Analytics; Production & Logistics
Compensation:
As required by Maryland and other applicable state law, X Energy, LLC (X-energy) lists the expected compensation range for a publicly advertised job opportunity based upon the job requirements (e.g. education/training, experience, skill sets, etc.). Individual candidates who meet the job requirements for the posted position will be offered a salary within this range based on their respective levels of education/training, experience, and other qualifications unique to them. Salary ranges may vary based on the specific office location and region referenced in the posting to take into consideration differences in cost of living and may not be reflective of all regions. Please note that compensation ranges listed for US job postings reflect base salary only and do not include benefits or other incentives. A reasonable estimate for this position at the level of experience required is: $116,820- $149,270.
Travel Expectations: 10% (as needed for project assignment)
Hours: Standard office hours are 8:00am ET to 5:00pm ET, Monday -Friday
