GENERAL SUMMARY

The Visual Director, Global Retail role will be focused on growing the Studio experience at WW,  transforming our studio locations and driving our product sales through visual merchandising strategies and fixture development.S/he will partner with all of our retail, product, and customer experience teams around the world .S/he will have experience working with retail organizations at scale, with a customer-centric mindset, thinking of both strategic and tactical ways to bring our physical Studios to life. Will have experience designing display and merchandising solutions for retail using programs such as Sketchup or Rhino or other 3D Display and Fixture system 



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Programming

  • Understands programming and how the journey through the Studio is enhanced by a branded environment, assisting with the sale of our products
  • Thinks in a 360 fashion about the Studio, from the time Members and non-Members come in, the entire experience, including product sales, workshops, walk-in visits, etc.

People

  • Provides coaching and feedback to multi-unit leaders on the Studio team and ensures their ability to uphold visual merchandising standards
  • Works with appropriate departments to ensure all changes from global retail work in scalable, executable ways, with clear roles, responsibilities, and follows up to ensure consistency

Places

  • Works with the selected architectural firm and SVP, Global Creative Director, to ensure design is brand right, facilitating best articulation of the brand, regardless of size of location
  • Ensures all elements needed are on brand, on time, and appropriately placed to support growth
  • Works with procurement on any elements needed, keeping a global mindset top of mind

Product

  • Responsible for gathering global practices, finding commonalities, and creating global content, with variances as needed by countries where appropriate
  • Partners with Product teams to ensure all fixed locations have direction needed to execute consistently. Ensures all communication needed globally on merchandising directives is executable, scalable, and drives improved performance. 
  • Ensures all marketing and POS signage in studio supports seasonal sales strategies.

Retail Operations

  • Responsible for gathering global practices, finding commonalities, and creating global content, with variances as needed by countries where appropriate
  • Understands scalable visual standards, within a very diverse workforce with low normal working hours to maintain consistent Member experience with the brand, and to bring products to life in the Studio Experience
  • Influences Home Office model of operations needed to support a retail focused Studio strategy

 EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 8 - 10 years experience in retail, with large field organizations (800+ locations), within matrixed and non-matrixed structures
  • Experience with designing display and merchandising solutions for retail using programs such as Sketchup or Rhino or other 3D Display and Fixture system 
  • Is familiar with best-in-class visual and store environment experiences, from initial formation of solutions through scalable rollouts
  • Ability to partner across all departments, on behalf of customer and retail experiences, to create and implement holistic solutions to bring Studios to life
  • Skilled at benchmarking practices, within and outside of like categories of business, to accelerate customer value proposition
  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills in English; secondary language a plus
  • Ability to work with field organizations, from top level positions though field teams, to build trust, understanding, and true partnerships
