Northern California P&C Practice Leader

 

Woodruff Sawyer is looking for a dynamic leader for our Northern California P&C Practice.  As the Practice Leader, you will be responsible for the strategic direction and development of the practice and our team members This role supports both WS corporate objectives and the needs of the practice through ongoing leadership and collaboration with WS resources and colleagues throughout the organization.

 

What You Will Be Doing:

 

  1. Devise and implement the practice business plan over a 1, 3- and 5-year basis designed to drive sustained, profitable growth over time, including management of the annual budget for the practice.  Key elements of this business plan are included below.
  2. Talent Development – effectively manage, develop and mentor sales and servicing staff to deliver exceptional results; provide ongoing feedback, establish goals and conduct performance reviews for direct reports.
  3. Talent Acquisition – actively search, identify and help recruit highly qualified candidates for key positions.
  4. Business Development – develop and implement a business development strategy to support the growth goals of the region, including the coaching, mentoring and goal development of Producers and sales-focused account executives.
  5. Industry Issues - through industry research, networking with external partners, and internal collaboration, be knowledgeable and current regarding: competitive issues and best practices within the industry and the practice; emerging industry issues, and the strategies necessary to address them; and subject matter expertise and the ability to proactively respond to market changes.
  6. WS Brand – enhance the WS brand, visibility, and impact through participation in industry initiatives and development of our external presence as a Woodruff Sawyer representative and advocate.
  7. Maintain and grow relationships with key insurance company partners and develop relationships with new insurers as needed for current or new client needs, including, problem solving with insurers and WS service teams on complex client coverage, pricing and claims issues.
  8. Create an implement a Practice Marketing Plan with support from WS corporate marketing.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  1. Minimum of 10 years strong leadership and management experience; proven ability to be a team player.
  2. College degree required; advanced degree and/or advanced insurance designations preferred.
  3. Excellent direct presentation, influencing, listening, and negotiating skills in a sales environment.
  4. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  5. Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  6. Strong leadership, strategy and business planning skills; ability to multi-task and shift focus as priorities change.
  7. Previous training and/or formal mentoring experience desirable; demonstrated ability to be a team builder.
