Consultant as Front End Developer
WRI Indonesia is currently supporting the development of a participatory monitoring platform in order to acquire critical and timely land-use information from citizen-sourced data collection campaigns. This is done primarily to complement degraded land monitoring via standard remote sensing measures and to enhance the quality of information for quantitative analyses, in which the economics of restoring and utilizing degraded landscapes will be assessed. Further, WRI Indonesia is the lead in the development of an independent scalable information platform for data visualization and dissemination of crowdsourcing/citizen science activities. In particular, a user-friendly analytical and visualization tool will be generated to present datasets, scenarios, and recommendations of the economic and biophysical modelling on restoration to policy makers and the general public, which hopefully can enhance the quality of policy making and improve land use governance.
To fulfill the abovementioned tasks, WRI Indonesia proposes to develop a platform called Urundata.id along with related campaign plans. Urundata.id will serve as the virtual home for data crowdsourcing campaigns and the visualization and dissemination of analyzed data from the RESTORE+ project in Indonesia. The target audience of this platform includes government officials at the national and subnational levels, and more importantly, the general public, who will help ensure public oversight over land use governance and influence policymaking on issues related to the land use sector, which in this case is Indonesia’s degraded land.
