Job Summary: 

Workit Health is looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our core team as a full-stack engineer. You will join a dynamic fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to design and build scalable software solutions. As a member of our engineering team, you’ll be critical in delivering software that improves people’s lives, safely and securely delivering the most accessible mental health and overall wellness services. 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop new components for Workit Health web applications, primarily for our Electronic Medical Record and occasionally for our member-facing web application  
  • Collaboratively write code with other team members 
  • Own and direct full stack code architecture & state management structure 
  • Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency 
  • Help define best practices for development processes 
  • Provide code review & contribute to technical mentorship of junior engineers 
  • Collaborate with our design team to develop new features and functionality for our production web applications 
  • Work with technologies in any or all of the following areas: note taking, video conferencing, chat messaging, scheduling and datetime management, complex user interface design 
  • Provide ongoing maintenance of applications, improving our infrastructure and making our applications more reliable 
  • Provide engineering support for IT tickets/bug reports via Sentry, Asana, & Github on an as-needed basis 
  • Research, scope, and test new technologies to improve our team workflow and user experience

Qualifications 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer programming, computer science or related field; 
  • 5+ years of professional engineering experience in Javascript (React and Redux a plus) 
  • 5+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails and MVC architecture 
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs 
  • Experience testing, releasing and deploying web applications 
  • Knowledge of systems design concepts 
  • Comfortable using git, managing multiple branches, resolving merge conflicts 
  • Experience owning multi month long projects, including communication of progress, dependencies, and risk mitigation directly with stakeholders and partners 
  • Comfort and reliability with remote communication: Slack, Asana, video stand-ups

  • Excitement for telehealth solutions 
  • Experience with test-driven development and the use of testing frameworks 
  • Experience debugging production applications 
  • Experience with working in a fully distributed team 
  • Experience working with HIPAA compliant systems 
  • Experience working with payment and insurance system
