We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Manager to join our team. In this role, you will oversee the coordination, execution, and leadership of our Accounts Payable function, managing the department’s Accounts Payable Clerk and taking charge of performance management and hiring.
Job Type: Full-time
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Compensation: $50K-$60K+ per year, based on experience
Essential Functions:
- Manage daily operations for accounts payable across 300+ individual properties, each with separate bank accounts.
- Communicate effectively with the Accounts Receivable team and leadership regarding ongoing tasks, special projects, and daily workload.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational skills while multitasking.
- Execute and troubleshoot multiple fund transfers during weekly check runs.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Coordinate and execute two weekly check runs—one for utilities and another for all other bills.
- Ensure timely fund transfers during the weekly check run process, maintaining positive cash balances across all bank accounts.
- Maintain accurate records and control reports.
- Collaborate closely with the Treasury Manager and AR Manager to ensure precise reporting and streamline processes as needed.
- Lead the annual property tax assessment and bill payment process.
- Oversee the full cycle from invoice receipt to payment, assist with property tax appeals, and ensure all invoices are logged accurately.
- Supervise corporate credit card accounting processes.
- Engage directly with vendors regarding payments, effectively handling any difficult vendor calls.
- Prepare and submit 1099 forms annually.
- Stay updated on software enhancements to ensure optimal use of tools.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or a strong combination of education and experience.
- Prior accounts payable experience.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership and people management abilities.
- Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening, criminal background check, and credit check.
