ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
As Senior Product Line Manager on the Wind River Product Management team, you will take ownership of key components and use cases at the heart of the Wind River Studio cloud portfolio of products. You’ll be responsible for establishing a roadmap for supporting Virtualized applications with OpenStack and other new and upcoming cloud native technologies. Working closely with engineering teams, customers, partners, executive leadership, and services team leverage your technical, analytical, process and strategic skills towards executing high impact value added opportunities. The role requires passion for building outstanding products that customers love to use, appreciation for working with great engineers, willingness to do what it takes to help grow the business, wisdom to make tough tradeoffs and keep up with a high pace growth environment.
Interface & Collaboration
Work closely with engineering teams, customers, partners, executive leadership, and services team, leveraging your technical, analytical, process and strategic skills towards executing high impact value added opportunities. Work shoulder to shoulder with a high caliber engineering team to deliver high quality product. Collaborate with marketing, sales, professional services and other partners to drive revenue opportunities. You will report directly to VP of Product Management.
Essential Responsibilities
- Define and own the strategy, roadmap for Virtualized applications (OpenStack, Cloud Native) and Distributed Cloud portfolio
- Define use cases, product requirements and multi-year product roadmap
- Evangelize and drive the product roadmap across various functional teams within Wind River
- Proactively engage with the customer, actively listen to their challenges and help craft appropriate solutions tying back to product capabilities
- Holistically analyze the Virtualized applications market in the context of Far Edge Cloud deployments, customer needs, trends and competitors to determine opportunities for Wind River
- Demonstrate a positive demeanor and flexibility to jump in and roll-up your sleeves when the situation demands
- Leverage diplomacy, integrity and presence to enable you to work effectively at all levels within a large organization
- Work shoulder to shoulder with a high caliber engineering team to deliver high quality product
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, professional services and other partners to drive revenue opportunities
CORE COMPETENCIES & DEMONSTRATED SUCCESS
- Deep expertise in one or more of the following technology areas:
- Experience and expertise in OpenStack
- Telco background in RAN or Core a plus
- Familiarity with Far Edge Cloud deployments and Public cloud landscape with expertise in one of the following: Distributed Cloud, Telco segment (RAN & Core), SaaS, IaaS, Paas
- Experience with Open Source technologies/projects
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Effective writing skills with the ability to write clearly to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Experience and comfort with public speaking
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, and the ability to translate those skills into a proven track record in delivering successful, award winning online products
Qualifications/Requirements
- BA/BS required in Computer Science or related technical degree
- MS/MBA preferred
- Demonstrated credibility with customers, partners and cross-functional stakeholders
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in product management capacity
- Customer facing and market analysis experience highly preferred

Compensation
The annual base salary range for this role’s listed grade level is currently $141,700 to $185,000 plus a bonus for Colorado, New York, and New Jersey residents, and $166,000 to $215,000 plus a bonus for SF Bay Area, Greater Seattle, NYC, and Washington, DC, residents. Salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities of the applicant, and equity with other team members. Employees in this role are also eligible for the following benefits in accordance with the terms of the Company's plans: health, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, flex time off, eligibility to enroll in 401k, and 12 paid holidays.
