About the Opportunity

  • People (Employee) Relations, Senior Partner is a new role within our Global People Operations team; it is a hybrid role in which you will also provide strategic People Partner support and partnership for various G&A functions.  We expect the People Partner role to be approximately 20-30% of this position.  The term People and Employee Relations will be used interchangeably throughout this job description.
  • The People Relations, Senior Partner is a remote role in the US that reports to the Director, People Operations and HR Technology.  It is a unique opportunity to build out a Center of Excellence (CoE) focused on enabling the People Team, People Leaders and employees to navigate challenging career moments while balancing compliance, empathy and risk, resulting in success and engagement for all.  You will be responsible for developing and implementing policies, processes, and People Relations reporting and tracking mechanisms as well as conducting investigations and coaching People Team members, People Leaders, and employees on a wide range of complex employee relations matters including performance management, workplace investigations, involuntary terminations, and accommodations. The People Relations CoE will also include responsibility for building out employee crisis management policies and processes and will support various G&A functions as a People Partner.
  • We are looking for someone with deep experience and background in People Partner and People (Employee) Relations responsibilities who has the skills to not just execute on existing processes but has the vision, drive, and skills to build out a new CoE, be a trusted advisor and consultant in preventing employee relations situations as well as leading actual investigations.  While legal and compliance knowledge is important in mitigating employment risks and preserving the Wind River culture, the key success driver for this role is fostering fairness and creating positive and respectful employee experiences.

 

Responsibilities

  • Build a global People (Employee) Relations Strategy aligned with company and People Team strategy. Ensure we responding to employee concerns with respect, empathy, and care.
  • Develop and implement processes, policies related to People Relations management including a case management and tracking system.
  • Coach and train Wind River People Partners globally on best-in-class People Relations practices including newly developed processes and policies.
  • Assess, diagnose, and coach People Partners, People Leaders, and employees through complex People Relations issues, relative to performance management; workplace investigations and fact-finding; involuntary terminations; accommodations; policy exceptions; workforce reductions.
  • Deliver expertise, consultation, guidance, and coaching to leaders and People Partners to address employee behavior and performance concerns; provide guidance and assist with the development and delivery of appropriate feedback or corrective/disciplinary actions.
  • Lead People Relations investigations to include gathering and analyzing facts, applying relevant laws, policies, and past practice to reach conclusions and recommend management action. Partners with internal and external legal partner and support local People Partners as needed.
  • Provide expertise and case management of People Relations issues, from initial intake to resolution.
  • Operate and advise in the "gray" areas. Understands client motivations and business pain points; leverage inputs to influence solid business decisions.
  • Track, report, and analyze case trends utilizing People Relations case management system.
  • Provide strategic People Partner support for various G&A functions (Finance, Legal, Marketing) such as
  • identify and direct people related projects and activities to help these functions achieve their business goals.
  • Understand and use people related metrics help Senior Leaders make people related decisions.
  • Lead Global People Relations initiatives and projects.
  • Create resources, templates, and tools for leaders and managers to support adoption of the Performance Improvement Framework, and other ER practices.
  • Build out a crisis management policy and processes to support employees in crisis due to natural disasters.

 

About You

  • Background of 10 plus years in Human Resources and/or People Relations in a global environment
  • Experience as People Partner
  • Ideally, experience with Employee Crisis Management
  • A compassionate individual who exerts positive energy
  • Deep experience providing guidance and counsel in complex People Relations matters, directly managing complex People Relations issues, ideally in a technology company with a People Relations CoE
  • Experience balancing minimizing exposure for the company and using empathy and care to resolve, address, and provide guidance on People Relations issues.
  • Experience partnering and influencing leaders and employees and establish strong cross-functional relationships at all levels and geographies.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, HR certification and/or advanced degree desired
  • Previous People Partner, employment legal, or other relevant experience
  • Broad knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Experience in developing and implementing processes and policies.
  • Strong project management and analytical skill
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this role’s listed grade level is currently $132,500-$178,910 plus bonus for Colorado residents, $132,500-$178,910 plus bonus for New York and New Jersey residents, and $145,300-$196,190 plus bonus for California and Washington residents. Salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, and equity with other team members. Employees in this role are also eligible for the following benefits in accordance with the terms of the Company's plans: health, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, flex time off, eligibility to enroll in 401k, 12 paid holidays.
