ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

 

The right candidate will possess proven software engineering skillsYou are expected to be versatile and able to thrive in a dynamic environment. You are comfortable managing competing priorities and can bring order to ambiguous scenarios. Maturity, impeccable judgment, and the ability to influence and lead are essential to success in this role.

 


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·          Develop software related to containerized applications.

·          Lead and develop high quality designs and code based on Kubernetes, containerd, Helm, and other container related technologies.

·          Work as part of a team focused on containerization and fault tolerant/carrier grade development.

·          Work with the most dynamic and exciting open-source software projects today – Kubernetes, KubeVirt, Helm, Flux CD, Ansible, Puppet, etc.

·          Investigate and resolve issues reported during product verification and customer integration.

·          Contribute actively to StarlingX, an open-source project under the Open Infrastructure Foundation - a fully featured cloud infrastructure software stack for the edge (https://www.starlingx.io/).

·          Participate in all aspects of the software development process using agile development.


QUALIFICATIONS

·          Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

·          10+ years of professional software development experience.

·          7+ years of programming experience with python; also experience with Go and C would be a benefit.

·          5+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.

·          5+ years of experience with Kubernetes, containers, Helm, Ansible, Puppet, Go. 

·          5+ years of experience as a Technical Leader driving delivery of software by a small team.

 

Preferred Qualifications

·          10+ years of professional experience in building infrastructure software for highly scalable and distributed systems.

·          Track record of building and delivering mission critical, 24x7 production software systems. 

·          Contributions to one or more open-source community projects. 

·          Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.

·          Strong analytical and debugging skills. 

·          Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this role’s listed grade level is currently $152,100 to $179,340 plus a bonus for Colorado, New York, and New Jersey residents, and $165,900 to $195,660 plus a bonus for SF Bay Area, Greater Seattle, NYC, and Washington, DC, residents. Salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities of the applicant, and equity with other team members. Employees in this role are also eligible for the following benefits in accordance with the terms of the Company's plans: health, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, flex time off, eligibility to enroll in 401k, and 12 paid holidays.
