What You’ll Do
WindRiver Systems is seeking an experienced high-performing professional, developing Site Reliability Engineering Functions, supporting Engineering through application maintenance and development, and offering shared services that spans across all products.
As the industry is moving intelligence to the Edge, this introduces challenges to ensure systems are highly available, reliable, free from threats and vulnerabilities. The successful candidate will join a highly skilled SRE and shared services team focused on implementing modern monitoring and observable platforms, enable systems for early detections, programmatically control the infrastructure, work on DevSecOps technologies, pioneer new tools, processes and capabilities for local and cloud-native solutions.
The candidate must have experience in both Linux and cloud-native environments and be a highly adaptable team player who can quickly ramp up on new technologies and accomplish goals in a fast-paced agile environment. A combination of strong technical and communication skills is a must, along with an unbounded desire to learn new technologies and their application.
Who You Will Work With:
In SRE and Shared Services org, with primary focus on Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure Orchestration, Engineering Operations, Security implementation and you will work with Production Engineering, Software Development, QA and our Customer-facing teams to ensure requisite levels of infrastructure, application and software security/quality.
Responsibilities:
·Drive the architectural efforts to improve resiliency, efficiency, performance, and costs.
·Ensure the systems are highly reliable, available, free from threats & vulnerabilities in cloud, internal environments, and applications for engineering stakeholders.
·Write programs or scripts to replace manual tasks and automate the services to make it stable and operable.
·Develop systems in place for the three pillars of observability- Logs, metrics, and traces.
·Integrate various systems for better monitoring mechanisms in place by writing code, integrating APIs and plugins and prepare dashboards for better visibility.
·Enabling systems for early problem detections with effective alerts & monitors for cloud and on-prem infrastructure.
·Be responsible to remediate tickets in Issue Tracking systems.
·Be responsible to identify risks, defects, bottlenecks, and anything that can impair quality, availability, performance of deployed workloads/applications.
·Secure OnPrem and Public Cloud environments leveraging IAC
Minimum Qualifications:
·3-5 years in Linux system maintenance and application support, especially Atlassian apps – Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, etc.
·3-5 years relevant experience in AWS cloud operations, security principles and trends.
·Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, willing to take up complex challenges and triage environmental issues.
·Programming & scripting experience using Python, Shell, REST API services etc.
·Experience with
DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, Gitlab etc.
Kubernetes clusters, ensuring security, compliance and 24/7 availability of deployed workloads.
Monitoring & logging tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, etc.
Container ecosystems such as Docker, Kubernetes, Kubeflow etc.
·Good knowledge in AWS Cloud formation, Infra automation using Terraform, chef, ansible or puppet.
·Understanding of relevant database technologies (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.)
·Understanding of Agile and Scrum principles.
·Self-managed, fast learner, and aptitude to learn quickly.
·Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a good listener.
·Exceptional team player who works well in collaborative situations.
·Ability to brainstorm and represent competing ideas simultaneously.

Compensation
The annual base salary range for this role’s listed grade level is currently $110,000 to $145,000 plus bonus for residents in the states of Colorado, New York and New Jersey; and $127,000 to $170,000 plus bonus for residents in the states of California and Washington, and the NYC area. Salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, location and abilities of the applicant, and equity with other team members. Employees in this role are also eligible for the following benefits in accordance with the terms of the Company's plans: health, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, flex time off, eligibility to enroll in 401k, 12 paid holidays.
