ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
 
This role will work with Wind River Cloud partners to integrate, and support on an ongoing continues integration of Wind River Studio Operator with Wind River partner solutions. You will leverage the Open infrastructure Foundation’s StarlingX project and other open-source projects during your work, the integrated solution will create an ecosystem of 5G O-RAN solutions that enables service providers to build and deploy 5G disaggregated O-RAN network without the risk of integration, knowing that everything is pretested, and working well. You must have experience in software engineering with a strong focus on networking. You must be capable of understanding the customer’s problems and whiteboarding solutions using our product offerings and services. You should also know and have lived through commercial software project development cycles and have a good understanding of project management. Some amount of travel will be required.
Interface & Collaboration
Report directly to our Telecom Solutions Engineering senior technical leader. You will be an integral part of the telecom solutions engineering & architects’ team you will work closely with our Telco Channel & Partner Director and you will collaborate with telco account team, engineering, product management, and other member from the solutions engineering team.
 
Responsibilities
  • Manage all technical needs of assigned partner account utilizing all available resources.
  • Serve as a single technical point of contact and become the partner trusted advisor and the Wind River solutions expert.
  • Listen to partner needs, then Architect, Develop, and deliver Proof of Concepts, Demos, Presentations, and technical workshops.
  • Understand the customer use cases and support the work with our partners in development and delivery of joined POC or Demo.
  • Exhibit leadership skills during joint requirements analysis with our partners and creating technical solutions as well as identifying potential business opportunities.
  • Understanding and contributing to relevant open-source standards and community projects is a must. Participation in open-source projects will be based on business needs.
  • Provide consistent market feedback to Wind River.
  • Remove technical barriers for Wind River solutions.
  • Increase Wind River's market share with each partner.
ABOUT YOU
 
Core Competencies & Demonstrated Success
  • Be hands-on in the development of proof of concepts (PoCs), extending product features, and testing code.
  • Experience in open-source projects such as StarlingX, Kubernetes, O-RAN SC, Nephio, etc… is a benefit.  However, the ability and desire to contribute to these projects while representing the company is a must.
  • Technical Pre-sales Experience, comfort, and confidence in front of customers
  • Able to work independently in partber location/Labs.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have 12+ years of software development or solutions architecting experience in the following areas:
  • Working/functional knowledge of network stacks, switching, routing, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of wireless/cellular telecom, and 5G edge deployments.
  • Experience in network system-level solution design.
  • Expertise in virtualization, containers, Kubernetes, orchestration, OpenStack, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Exposure to SDN concepts, Network Function Virtualization (NFV), and ETSI-MANO.
  • Linux background covering deployment, image build, application, and kernel development.
  • Adept at various programming languages: C++/C, scripting languages like Python, Perl, etc.
  • Must have, English language skills, enabling business discussion/dialogue.
