Senior Analyst – Windows Systems / Security Administration

Location: US, Remote

About the Opportunity

 

The successful candidate will work with an international team of Linux and Windows Administrators to provide daily Windows server support in a large-scale global multi-platform environment.

The Candidate will  independently design, test, implement, troubleshoot and maintain infrastructure architectures to include hardware platforms, client applications, server services and Linux operating systems;  Provides enterprise level support for hardware and Windows OS related issues;  Evaluates, tests and makes recommendations on new/upgrades to hardware, OS, network and applications and their impact on existing system configurations;  Document standards, implementation procedures and troubleshooting processes.  Must be available to work 24x7 support rotation, which includes fielding trouble tickets. Take a leadership role for new projects, working within an inter-departmental team to achieve successful results towards Company objectives.   Must have good communication skills and enjoy working in a team environment.

 

 

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Provide specialized enterprise level support and management for Windows Infrastructure, Active Directory, Exchange O365, Office O365, SharePoint, and Dell server hardware.
  • Develop and implement business solutions using PowerShell, VBScripts, GPOs, etc.
  • Build/Install, support and maintain physical and virtual servers, troubleshoot server and hardware issues and escalate as required.
  • Maintain system & security patches up to date or current patches, updates, virus and malware protection for responsible architectures and applications.
  • Provide monitoring and planning for growth and capacity.
  • Ensure that production systems are backed up and protected.
  • Document infrastructure standards and processes, implementation procedures and troubleshooting processes.
  • Design, develop, and articulate solutions based on a strategic business or technical requirements. 
  • Integrate new technologies to solve business requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure engineered solutions are aligned to company standards.
  • Participate in a 24x7 support rotation, which includes fielding trouble tickets
  • Analyze the current enterprise and makes recommendations for capacity planning, performance tuning and design enhancements.
  • Participate in the selection of services and products from a variety of vendors.
  • Storage Administration of EMC and NetApp Enterprise Storage environment.
  • Systems Administration for Windows Server.
  • Security and performance monitoring.

 

Experience/ Competencies

  • 5+ years’ experience with Windows Server Operation Systems.
  • 2+ years’ experience with VMware or another Hypervisor
  • Experience with EMC and/or Netapp Enterprise Storage
  • Experience with SAN-Fibre-Channel Zoning.
  • Experience with PowerShell, PowerCLI or other scripting tools.
  • Solid understanding of Windows security fundamentals.
  • Strong Active Directory knowledge and administrative skills.
  • Strong understanding of IIS, WINS, DDNS, DHCP, DFS, FRS, Group Policies.
  • Experience with project management on IT infrastructure projects.
  • Strong leadership skills and influence in one or more projects or disciplinary areas.
  • Strong writing and verbal Communication and Team Leadership skills
  • Makes decisions on non-routine matters within broadly defined policies and procedures.
  • Able to plan and execute complex projects with capability for complex analysis.
  • Extremely proficient with two or more IT disciplines.
  • Experience with a large-scale, multi-platform environment (500+ machines in multiple sites).

 

Experience with the following is a plus:

  • Amazon Web Services or other cloud technology.
  • Experience with F5 or another load balancer.
  • Veritas Rubrik or other data backup architecture.

Compensation                

The annual base salary range for this role’s listed grade level is currently $ 89,000 to $115,000 plus a bonus for Colorado, New York, and New Jersey residents, and $105,500 to $140,000 plus a bonus for SF Bay Area, Greater Seattle, NYC, and Washington, DC, residents. Salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities of the applicant, and equity with other team members. Employees in this role are also eligible for the following benefits in accordance with the terms of the Company's plans: health, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, flex time off, eligibility to enroll in 401k, and 12 paid holidays.

 

Security Clearance Requirements   

Successful candidates must engage in a security clearance process in regards to their citizenship in order to perform fundamental job duties, as per applicable law.
