Job Summary
This individual will cut material to specific measurements to fill customer orders under direction of the Foreman - Finishing. Write up and process material to be cut. Performs other tasks as required.
These openings are for the following schedule.
Day 1, Monday & Tuesday and Friday & Saturday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Day 2, Wednesday – Friday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities.
- Evaluate the manifest for the material in production.
- Set up the table for the saw operation.
- Make tags for cut material.
- Cut material to specified measurements.
- Check and set up saw to insure it is operating safe and properly.
- Move cut material to the holding area.
- Visually inspect material to meet quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Change the saw blade and blade cover as needed.
- Performs coordinator functions and backup to the foreman.
- Manage workflow of employees and orders
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
• Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the work area and other pertinent rules/regulations governing work standards.
• Knowledge of mathematics to calculate multiple cuts.
• Knowledge of full size cut specifications for backers
• Knowledge of computers to include Excel and Word. Understanding of customer specification requirements.
• Ability to read a tape measure (to 16th).
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to maintain the work flow of helpers at the saw
• Ability to work efficiently with an acceptable quality to work.
• Ability to process Cut-To-Size orders for saw operation.
• Ability to use ORACLE computer system as well as ODBC.
• Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the work area and other pertinent rules/regulations governing work standards.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High School Diploma or GED, or will accept one year of relevant work history.

EXPERIENCE: 1+ years
1 year experience in the Cut-To-Size Department to include 1 year experience with saw operation (MJ).

WORKING CONDITIONS
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight (>50 lbs) Examples: grounds staff and EMS
ENVIRONMENT: Located in an indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature extremes, loud noises and bright lights. Examples: mail clerks, material handlers and food service workers
