JOB SUMMARY:

Working in the Manufacturing and production area the associate will perform a variety of duties including but not limited to operating the plate lift, separating pressed laminate and stacked material. Works under the direction of Team Leaders and Supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Retrieves and inspects component material, plates, and laminate.
  • May work in a variety of manufacturing areas running equipment, monitoring processes and making adjustments as needed.
  • Make work in an individual or team capacity.
  • Initiates corrective action if production operations are not standard.
  • Logs production information such as:  material produced, type, size, run, control settings, rejects, etc.
  • Performs lock-out/tag-out procedures and preventative maintenance checks and follows all safety policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the Wilsonart Continuous Improvement system and complies with all quality standards.
  • Perform other position duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work in a safe manner following company guidelines and procedures.
  • Knowledge of computers, sufficient to enter data into system.
  • Ability to identify patterns and finishes and follow quality specs.
  • Ability to operate a lift truck.
  • Skill in hand and eye coordination.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:  Equivalent combination of work history and education (GED or Diploma not required)

EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years of work experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Heavy work - tasks involve pushing/pulling, lifting and standing or using force equal to handling materials or 50 to 100 pounds. Plus walking and standing during a minimum of a 10-hour shift.
