ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for maintaining all moving equipment within the plant. Including but not limited to preventive and breakdown maintenance. 
  • The position will report to the Maintenance Facilities Supervisor.
  • Perform all preventive maintenance on lift trucks in the plant, per schedule.
  • Perform repairs on all lift truck equipment, fire pumps, generators, welders, etc.
  • Order parts needed for repairs.
  • Maintain inventory of parts and supplies.
  • Make and maintain entries in Famis (Inventory/Repair System).
  • Send out parts for repairs such as starters and electric motors.
  • Maintain and keep updated records and documentation on forklift activities/issues.
  • Follow LOTO procedures.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Attend department meetings. Safety, Lean, etc.
  • Perform other tasks as required.
  • Follow all department and company safety guidelines.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the maintenance department and other pertinent rules/regulations governing work standards.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair production fleet.
  • Must be able to operate various pieces of moving equipment safely.
  • Must be able to work independently.

EDUCATION:  High School Diploma or equivalent. 

EXPERIENCE:  Two years of mechanical maintenance or relevant work experience and general knowledge of internal combustion engines. Experience with hydraulics and electrical diagnostics are a plus.
