JOB SUMMARY

Conducts assigned deliveries. Loads and unloads trucks in the assigned department/location. Performs other tasks as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Loads and unloads materials

·         Drives truck to destinations and returns safely

·         Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations

·         Prepares and maintains required documentation

·         Inspects truck equipment and supplies

·         Performs emergency roadside repairs

·         Positions hazardous material trailer identification

·         Reads maps and plans routes to the load destination

·         Maintains acceptable driving record

·         Assists the needs of the customer

·         Assists in the distribution center as necessary or directed

·         Performs other tasks as required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

·         Knowledge of Department of Transportation and state regulations and local laws pertaining to vehicle operations

·         Knowledge of truck hauling procedures

·         Knowledge of hazardous waste materials and safe handling procedures

·         Skill in operating lift trucks

·         Ability to understand and follow directions

·         Ability to work independently.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

High School Graduate or GED

Must have a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s license

Hazardous material endorsement and Tanker Endorsement

EXPERIENCE:

1+ years

Local experience

No chargeable accidents in three years

WORKING CONDITIONS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight (>50 lbs) Examples: grounds staff and EMS
