For more than 60 years, Wilsonart has honored our founders' promise to provide our customers with industry-leading products and service. In November 2012, Wilsonart became a new, independent company when Clayton, Dubilier & Rice ("CD&R") and Illinois Tool Works Inc. (NYSE:ITW) completed a transaction for the sale of ITW's Decorative Surfaces business unit. CD&R acquired a majority stake in the new freestanding business and ITW retained an ongoing ownership stake.

Team Lead I
Wilsonart, Temple, Texas has an immediate opening for Team Lead I. The Team Lead I, under the direction of their supervisor, is responsible for communicating work assignments to meet the daily schedule. Able to resolve most questions and problems through knowledge and refers complex issues to supervisor. Performs their primary job 90% or more of the time. These are rotating shift positions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviews schedules, specifications and priorities to communicate crew/shift work assignments.
- Assign duties to employees and oversee their crew’s activities.
- Assist employees in resolving problems and escalating complex problems.
- Assists in training personnel on production operations, quality and safety, ensuring work instructions and safety rules are followed.
- Is respectful and professional in communicating with others, providing clear, concise information and/or directions.
- Communicates with the previous and oncoming crews effectively and timely to transition daily production needs.
- Assists in leading effective lean meetings in supervisor’s absence.
- Works with employees to escalate ideas/suggestions and the completion of Hazard ID’s.
- Provides information regarding employee performance and behaviors that needs recognized or addressed to supervisor/manager in a timely manner.
- Acts as a role model (leadership, values, behaviors, attendance, policies, etc).
- Performs other duties as assigned. Translates and/or determines goals & priorities for shift/crew.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the area of work and other pertinent rules/regulations governing work standards.
- Knowledge of systems to proficiently complete work transactions.
- Knowledge of product types and the manufacturing process.
- Knowledge of quality standards.
- Ability to support leadership with decision making
- Skilled in verbal and written communication, including tact and diplomacy when dealing with others.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality; demonstrates Wilsonart’s values.
- Skilled in organizing and prioritizing; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to operate machinery in a safe and comfortable manner.
- Works well with others and in creating a team environment.
- Knowledge of company policies, procedures and practices.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
High School Graduate or GED.
EXPERIENCE: Must have 1 year of experience in related department required; demonstrating excellent leadership behaviors. |

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Heavy Work - Tasks involve pushing/pulling, lifting and standing or using force equal to handling materials of 50 to 100 pounds. |
