Wilsonart in Temple, TX currently has an opening for an Environmental Manager to join our team Health & Safety team.  
  
This role will be responsible for managing environmental programs across North America for a multi-location manufacturing operation.  Supporting ISO 14001 programs across manufacturing operations.  Supporting research and growth of the business in a complex regulatory environment to ensure best control methodologies are in place.  Supporting the business's Environment, Social, & Governance priorities to ensure the most responsible environmental programs are in place and followed.  Perform other tasks as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  
  • Develop and implement environmental strategies and action plans, to ensure corporate sustainable development.
  • Plan, coordinate and develop all required air permitting changes for the operations including Title V and NSR permits.
  • Coordinate all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation and renewable energy
  • Lead the implementation of environmental policies and practices.
  • Audit, analyze and report environmental performance to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Carry out impact assessments to identify, assess and reduce an organization's environmental risks and financial costs.
  • Promote and raise awareness, at all levels of an organization, of the impact of emerging environmental issues.
  • Support the ISO 14001 certifications at manufacturing operations across North America. 
  • Develop and implement environmental management systems to continually improve the impact of the organization on the environment.
  • Train staff at all levels on environmental issues and responsibilities
  • Support new business opportunities with respect to environmental compliance.  
  • Lead efforts for annual environmental reporting to required agencies (tier 2, TRI, annual air inventory, etc)
  • Oversee the data collection methods to be employed in research projects and surveys.
  • Oversee the collection and synthesizes of data derived from pollution emission measurements, atmospheric monitoring, meteorological and mineralogical information and soil or water samples.
  • Oversee the preparation of graphs, charts and statistical models from synthesized data, using mathematical, statistical and engineering analysis techniques.
  • Analyze data to assess pollution problems, establish standards and develop approaches for controlling pollution.
  
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  
  • Knowledge of safety and health standards applicable to the work area and other pertinent rules/regulations governing work standards.
  • Knowledge of environmental engineering practices.
  • Knowledge of federal regulations, state laws and local laws affecting industrial practices.
  • Knowledge of air control principles pertaining to environmental standards, specifically Title V and New Source Review (NSR).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to communicate well in oral and written forms inside and out of the organization.
  • Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions.
  • Experience and knowledge of the permitting process for the state of Texas.
  
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS  
  
EDUCATION  
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or a closely related field.    An equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted in place of degree requirement.  
   
EXPERIENCE:  
6+ years of experience working in an Environmental Manager or Specialist role.  Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is highly desirable.   
   
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Light work - Tasks involve pushing/pulling, lifting, and standing or using force equal to handling materials up to 20 pounds.
