Plant Manager - Solid Surface

Wilsonart in Temple, TX currently has an opening for a Plant Manager for our Solid Surface Manufacturing facility.
This role will be responsible for the management and oversight of the manufacturing operations within Wilsonart’s Solid Surface facility in Temple, TX. The Plant Manager will lead and utilize Operational Excellence allowing those teams to meet their Key Performance Indicator Targets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively lead and engage in Daily Management reviews.
- Drive targeted, sustainable improvement in Safety, Quality, Service, and Cost.
- Establish Manufacturing standard practices and processes. (equipment, training, policies, procedures)
- Monthly tracking and countermeasure development for all Manufacturing KPI’s and deliverables
- Maintain multi-year capacity roadmap for a manufacturing location.
- Promote and facilitate diagnosis of workflow impediments and other wastes throughout the business and provide expert counsel on appropriate Operational Excellence coaching to eliminate waste.
- Establish annual productivity objectives by site and develop/facilitate tracking and delivery.
- Promote and facilitate associate development in various Operational Excellence tools and kaizen leadership.
- Communicate and drive “Best Practices” across the business and facilitate Wilsonart leadership benchmarking sessions between all locations.
- Work with Wilsonart Quality & Operational Excellence team to schedule events and get needed resources and help Wilsonart continue the evolution of the Operational Excellence tools.
- Maintain and support ISO Quality Process certification program.
- Establish/support annual Environmental and Energy reduction targets to drive improved performance.
- Develop staff in Operational Excellence and manufacturing/supply chain capabilities to facilitate talent development across Wilsonart.
- Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight, and repair expenses.
- Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs.
- Incorporate shop-floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
- Drive volume growth and productivity improvements by implementing Lean and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Coordinate and collaborate with support functions (Supply Chain Planning, Continuous Improvement, Quality, Safety, Engineering, and Human Resources) to establish and implement appropriate systems in support of Production Operations goal optimization.
- Select and maintain qualified personnel in all positions reporting directly or indirectly.
- Facilitates new product launches to assure successful implementation.
- Responsible for compliance with all regulatory, corporate, and local policies (safety, environmental, quality, employment, etc.).
- Ensures a safe working environment and promotes safe work practices in the operations team.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree Required in Engineering, Business, or other Technical Discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted. Master’s Degree is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:
- 5-7+ years in a similar or industry-related role. 10+ years of experience preferred.
- 2+ years of which must be in a leadership capacity in a manufacturing environment, specifically with Chemicals or Chemical manufacturing.
- Prior experience working in Global/Cross-cultural environments is preferred.
- Demonstrated track record of utilizing lean manufacturing techniques and leading in a Team-based work environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal relations skills.
- Statistical and analytical problem-solving.
- Demonstrated track record of growing and developing direct reports.
