Truck Driver I
Wilsonart, Denver, has an immediate opening for a Truck Driver I. This individual conducts assigned deliveries. Loads and unloads trucks in the assigned department/location. Performs other tasks as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Loads and unloads materials
- Drives truck to destinations and returns safely
- Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations
- Prepares and maintains required documentation
- Inspects truck equipment and supplies
- Positions hazardous material trailer identification
- Reads maps and plans routes to the load destination
- Maintains acceptable driving record
- Assists the needs of the customer
- Assists in the distribution center as necessary or directed
- Performs other tasks as required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation and state regulations and local laws pertaining to vehicle operations
- Knowledge of truck hauling procedures
- Knowledge of hazardous waste materials and safe handling procedures
- Skill in operating lift trucks
- Ability to understand and follow directions
- Ability to work independently and as a team
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
High School Graduate or GED
Must have a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s license
Hazardous material endorsement
EXPERIENCE
1+ years
Local experience
No chargeable accidents in three years
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight (>50 lbs) Examples: grounds staff and EMS
ENVIRONMENT: Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness. Examples: engineering, waste mgt, laundry workers and yards/grounds staff
COMPENSATION: $25.70 - $31.13/HR, DOE The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Wilsonart, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
